Overview

The product spans contract creation and review through signing, with use cases that include M&A, procurement, HR, real estate, risk management, and business development. That range makes it a practical option for mixed contract workflows, but users who need only one function may not need its broader toolset.

For review, upload a PDF, Word, or text contract to get risk scores, clause breakdowns, and recommendations. For drafting, answer targeted questions, then review, edit, and download the generated contract. The guided draft is a starting point, not a substitute for checking the final language.

Key features

Signers can draw, type, or upload signatures. Multi-party signing and real-time status tracking help users follow a shared signing process. Agreements.ai says its signatures comply with the ESIGN Act and UETA and include an audit trail with timestamps, IP addresses, and signer authentication.

The REST API supports document, envelope, and template management, as well as webhooks; its reference lists 25 endpoints. The developer documentation also describes an MCP endpoint connecting AI assistants including Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor to Agreements.ai. Rate caps of 30 read requests, 10 write requests, and 5 reminder or resend requests per minute matter for integrations with frequent traffic. The API is included with Business, so lower-tier users should account for that when planning automation.

Customer documents are not used to train AI models, according to the security page. The service specifies 256-bit AES encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. These are relevant safeguards for contract files, though they do not remove the need to assess a service against an organization's own security requirements.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes unlimited documents, 5 e-signatures per month, 5,000 AI analysis words per month, 50 legal templates, and PDF export. It is a useful way to handle occasional agreements, but the signature and analysis quotas constrain regular use.

Pro costs 20.00 USD per month, billed monthly. It raises the allowances to 50 e-signatures and 100,000 AI analysis words per month, adds 370+ legal templates, unlimited AI chat and analysis, and PDF and DOCX export. This fits individuals or small workloads that need more frequent signing and editable exports; the 50-signature cap remains a consideration.

Business costs 100.00 USD per month, billed monthly. It includes unlimited e-signatures, 500,000 AI analysis words per month, bulk sending up to 50, the REST API and webhooks, and team collaboration. It is the clearest fit for teams automating document workflows or signing at higher volume, though analysis still has a monthly word allowance.

Enterprise has custom pricing through a sales contact and offers a custom plan with unlimited words, SSO, advanced analytics, dedicated support, or custom integrations. It is aimed at organizations needing those capabilities rather than a fixed self-serve tier.

Platforms

Agreements.ai is available on the web and through an API. The API's per-minute rate limits should be considered before relying on it for high-frequency document operations.

Who it's for

It suits individuals and businesses that want contract analysis, guided drafting, signature collection, and document workflows together. The Free plan can cover occasional use; Pro suits higher individual usage, while Business adds team collaboration and API access for operational workflows. Readers needing a platform-specific app should note that the supported platforms are web and API.

Pros and cons

Pros: Review, drafting, multi-party e-signatures, and document management are combined, reducing the need to split a broad workflow across separate tools.
Pros: Free includes unlimited documents and 50 templates, while Pro adds a substantial increase in signing and analysis allowances for 20.00 USD per month.
Pros: Business includes the REST API and webhooks, bulk sending, and team collaboration, giving teams concrete workflow tools beyond individual contract generation.
Cons: Free limits signing to 5 per month and analysis to 5,000 words, so regular use is likely to require a paid plan.
Cons: API rate limits cap read, write, and reminder or resend traffic, which may constrain busy integrations.
Cons: Enterprise uses custom pricing, so organizations needing its advanced options must contact sales rather than choose a published monthly price.

Verdict

Choose Agreements.ai if you want contract review, guided drafting, signing, and API-backed document workflows in one service, with a free tier for occasional use and paid capacity for teams. Look elsewhere if the free quotas are too restrictive, the API rate caps do not suit your traffic, or you need a platform beyond web and API.
