Overview

AdBlocker Ultimate targets ads and trackers in browsers and apps, but the experience varies by platform. Windows offers system-level filtering and phishing protection, Android adds per-app controls and configurable DNS, while iOS blocking is limited to Safari. That breadth is useful for households with mixed devices, though it does not mean every platform has the same tools.

The maker says filtering happens locally, browsing history is not tracked, and user data is not sold, shared, or monetized. Its security policy also describes SSL/TLS for data exchanged with its servers, regular audits, and extension permissions limited to what is needed. Security updates are provided for at least three years after a product version’s release, and vulnerability reports are acknowledged within three business days.

Key features

Different controls by platform

The Windows app blocks ads and trackers at system level, adds phishing protection, and lets users configure exceptions. Support spans Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11, with minimum requirements of 512 MB RAM and 50 MB of disk space. This makes it a practical fit for older Windows machines, but the feature set is less configurable than Android’s.

Android is the most flexible option: it offers system-wide filtering, per-app controls, malware and phishing protection, encrypted DNS, and custom filter rules. Users can choose DNS-over-HTTPS, DNS-over-TLS, or DNSCrypt, or set a custom DNS server. Filtering runs locally through an on-device VPN connection, according to the maker, rather than sending filtering data to external servers. Those controls suit users who want to tune protection by app or DNS setup; they may be more than needed for someone seeking only basic browser blocking.

On iOS, blocking covers ads, malicious domains, and trackers in Safari, with custom filters and a whitelist. The extension supports Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Yandex, and Edge. It has no predefined acceptable-ads list, leaving site exceptions in the user’s hands—a useful distinction for people who prefer not to allow ads by default, though it means whitelisting is manual.

Pricing

AdBlocker Ultimate uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a 14-day trial. The available plan choices vary substantially in coverage and commitment:

Browser extension: Custom pricing. It blocks ads and trackers in the browser and blocks malicious and phishing domains, making it the narrower choice for people who do not need device-wide filtering.
Personal: Custom pricing for 3 devices. This is the smaller paid-device tier for individuals or light multi-device use.
Family: Custom pricing for 10 devices. It is the better fit for a household that needs more seats than the three-device tiers.
Yearly — 3 devices: 39.99 USD per year, billed $39.99, with a stated renewal price of 59.99 /year; cancel anytime. It includes free updates and premium support, and is the lower-seat annual option.
Yearly — 10 devices: 39.99 USD per year, billed $39.99, with a stated renewal price of 59.99 /year; cancel anytime. It also includes free updates and premium support, and covers more devices at the same listed initial price.
Lifetime — 3 devices: 99.99 USD per once, a one-time payment for a lifetime license. It avoids annual renewal but covers fewer devices.
Lifetime — 10 devices: 99.99 USD per once, a one-time payment for a lifetime license. It offers the same stated one-time price with broader device coverage.

The annual offers state savings compared with a renewal price of $59.99/year, so the initial billing should not be mistaken for the ongoing renewal amount. Email technical assistance and a 30-day money-back guarantee are also offered. The free plan and trial are useful for trying the service before paying, but their device or feature limits are not described here, so buyers should confirm that the free option covers their needs.

Platforms

AdBlocker Ultimate supports Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, web, and browser extensions, with desktop-and-mobile device coverage. Browser extensions are named for Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Yandex, and Edge. Windows has broad legacy-version support, while the iOS product specifically focuses on Safari; Android provides the richest set of per-device controls.

Who it's for

This is a strong candidate for people who want ad and tracker blocking across more than one kind of device, or Android users who value per-app rules and encrypted DNS choices. It is less compelling for someone who only needs a free browser add-on, or for an iPhone user expecting system-wide filtering: the iOS feature set described is Safari-focused. Households should compare the 10-device option with their actual seat needs rather than pay for coverage they will not use.

Pros and cons

Pros

Android combines system-wide and per-app filtering with custom rules and three encrypted DNS protocols, giving advanced users meaningful control.
Windows adds system-level blocking, phishing protection, and customizable exceptions, rather than limiting protection to a browser.
The maker says filtering is local and browsing history is not tracked or monetized, and it describes concrete audit, update, and vulnerability-response practices.
The listed annual price is the same for 3 and 10 devices, and lifetime licenses are also offered at the same stated price for both seat counts.

Cons

iOS blocking is confined to Safari, so it is not the equivalent of Android’s system-wide and per-app controls.
The annual plans show a higher renewal price of 59.99 /year after the 39.99 USD per year initial billing, which matters to anyone planning to keep the subscription.
The three-device limit on the smaller tiers may be restrictive for people covering several household devices; a 10-device tier is needed for broader coverage.
The free plan and trial have no stated device or feature caps, making it harder to judge whether they can replace a paid tier.

Verdict

Choose AdBlocker Ultimate if you want ad and tracker filtering across desktop and mobile, particularly if Android’s per-app controls and DNS choices matter to you. Its combination of platform-specific tools and 10-device pricing is the main draw. Look elsewhere if you need iOS-wide filtering or want a clearly defined free-plan allowance; also factor the stated annual renewal price into any long-term decision.
