Overview

Adapt is a revision planner and study-resource app for GCSE, A Level and students taking other supported qualifications. It is best suited to learners who want their revision schedule connected to course materials and practice rather than a timetable alone. Its appeal is the combination of a changing plan and Premium resources; the value depends on whether Adapt has suitable content for the student’s course.

Key features

Adapt builds a personalised revision plan around exam dates and available study time, then updates it as the student progresses. Premium adds control over when topics are rescheduled, whether to mix subjects each day and how many weeks ahead to plan. That flexibility can help students balance a long revision period, though those who prefer to set and maintain every session themselves may find an automatically adjusting plan less suitable.

The catalogue covers more than 1,200 courses across 20 qualifications and levels. Premium includes teacher-written notes and audio lessons, with language switching on supported language topics. Its practice tools provide unlimited quizzes and past-paper questions, worked explanations for multiple-choice answers and hints for written questions. These resources make Adapt more than a scheduling tool, but the usefulness of the catalogue depends on the individual course: written content and question availability vary.

Adapt for Schools lets teachers view aggregated, anonymous class confidence ratings to spot topics that may need attention. Students connect their school through a six-character code provided by the school. This is a useful classroom-facing feature, but its value is specific to students whose school uses the connection.

Pricing

The Free plan costs £0 forever and works in the browser and mobile app. It includes limited revision content and practice questions, shows ads and caps weekly note views. It is a sensible way to check course coverage and try the planner, but the limits make it a restricted option for sustained revision.

Premium Monthly costs £24.99 per month, billed monthly, and can be cancelled any time. It includes unlimited Premium features on browser and mobile. This suits students who want full access without committing through an exam period, although the monthly cost is higher than the exam-length options for students who know how long they need the service.

Premium 2027 Exams costs £89.99, billed once, for access until August 2027; its stated equivalent is £8.19/month. Premium 2028 Exams costs £149.99, billed once, for access until August 2028, equivalent to £6.59/month. Both are aimed at students planning to use Premium through the named exam cycle; the longer 2028 term has a higher upfront cost but a lower stated monthly equivalent. Premium Lifetime costs £249.99, billed once, for lifetime access, making it a larger commitment for students who expect to keep using Adapt beyond one exam cycle.

Recurring subscriptions can be stopped through the account or the store used to purchase them, with access normally continuing through the paid period.

Platforms

Adapt is available on the web, iOS and Android, so students can use it in a browser or on a mobile device. The Free and Premium plans include browser and mobile-app access.

Who it's for

Adapt is a strong fit for GCSE, A Level and other supported-qualification students who want exam-date-led scheduling alongside revision content and question practice. Students should confirm that their course offers the notes and questions they need. Those looking only for a general task planner, or wanting unrestricted resources without a subscription, may be better served elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: The plan adapts to exam dates, availability and progress, rather than remaining a static timetable.
Pros: Premium combines notes, audio lessons and unlimited question practice, with useful feedback features for different question types.
Pros: Exam-length subscriptions provide access through a named exam period for a one-time payment.
Cons: Course-level variation means catalogue coverage does not ensure every student will find the content and practice they need.
Cons: The free tier is ad-supported and limits note views, revision content and practice questions.
Cons: The monthly Premium plan costs £24.99 per month, so it is a costly fit for students who need full access for an extended period.

Verdict

Choose Adapt if you are studying a supported qualification and want a revision plan that responds to your progress alongside Premium notes, lessons and practice. Its main advantage is bringing scheduling and course study together; its main caveat is that resource coverage varies by course, while free access is limited. Check your course before committing, and look elsewhere if you need a general-purpose planner or do not want to pay for full access.
