vTuber Kit is a free desktop program for creating and streaming with a customizable 2D vTuber character. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, though Windows is the intended and tested build. Webcam face tracking works only on Windows; the macOS and Linux builds are untested and may not work completely correctly. The program integrates OpenSeeFace for camera facial tracking and microphone input. Users can personalize a model by combining hair, clothes, colors, and accessories. Version 0.2.2 added model import and export in .owo format and custom-item importing with anti-aliasing. Twitch integrations support channel point redeems, chat interactions, subscriptions, bits, and Twitch Power-ups. For OBS capture, the maker’s guide instructs users to add vTuber Kit as a Game Capture source and enable transparency. The program requests Twitch permission to read chat, channel point redeem information, and bit donation information; users can revoke access in Twitch settings. The maker says version 0.2.1 addressed a Unity Engine security issue. The user guide is a work in progress, with itch.io forums suggested for help in the meantime.
