ScreenMe provides web-based tenant screening and background checks for landlords and property managers. A landlord initiates a tenant credit check online, and the applicant completes it online. Reports can include credit history, eviction records, and criminal checks; CreditLink says TransUnion powers its renter screening. CreditLink states that its tenant-screening services follow FCRA guidelines and that it verifies user accounts before the first screening. Most reports are generated within minutes, while additional identity or records verification can take up to 24 hours. CreditLink says screening can reveal criminal history within the past seven years. It also states that it uses physical security and 256-bit TLS encryption, and does not share, sell, or trade personal information except to fulfill client obligations. CreditLink says customers pay as they go, with no contracts or ongoing fees.
