What Scootle is
Scootle is a national digital learning repository for Australian educators, with digital resources aligned to the Australian Curriculum from Foundation to Year 10. Teachers can browse curriculum descriptions and elaborations, then find quality-assured resources with student activities and teacher support materials. Subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, the Arts, Technologies, Health and Physical Education, Work Studies and Languages. Materials range from interactive multimedia, audio, photos and video to assessments, work samples, teacher ideas and units of work.
Teachers can arrange resources into personalised learning paths for individual students, groups or other learning purposes. Students open a path using its unique PIN without logging in. Teachers can export paths as spreadsheets or PDFs, share them with colleagues, or place them in a searchable bank for other educators to adapt. Scootle is free. Educators can register with an eligible education or university email address; others can continue as guests. Some schools can sign in through their education network portal, and an iOS app is documented. FAQs, guides and support tickets are available for help.
