Reco
Reco is a free desktop tool for turning two camera feeds into a panoramic sports view and tracking the play with AI.
What Reco is
Reco is a free desktop tool for turning two camera feeds into a panoramic sports view and tracking the play with AI. It can detect balls and players, with configurable framing presets. Automatic calibration matches visual features, while timing between cameras can be synchronized using IMU data or audio cross-correlation.
The same engine is available as a desktop app, command-line interface, library, and OBS plugin. Reco accepts GStreamer camera input and can submit frames to OBS and live streams. Listed targets include Linux, macOS, Windows, NVIDIA Jetson Orin, and cloud workers. The project says processing runs on hardware users own and footage stays theirs; it also says it collects no usage data, sends no telemetry, and makes no network requests unless users configure them. The engine uses the AGPL-3.0-only license, with no public paid tier. iOS and Android support points exist, but concrete implementations are still to come.
Good
- Free, with no public paid tier
- Detects balls and players with configurable framing
- Offers an OBS plugin and live-stream support
- Runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows
- Says it sends no telemetry or usage data
Watch out
- iOS and Android implementations are not ready
- Engine is licensed under AGPL-3.0-only
Who it suits
Reco suits coaches and parents who want a panoramic sports view, as well as hardware builders and developers embedding its engine in their own tools.
Verdict
Reco combines two-camera panoramic stitching with AI play tracking and tools for desktop and live production. Its mobile implementations are not yet available, and the engine uses an AGPL-3.0-only license.
