Quix Streams
Quix Streams is a free, open-source Python library for processing Kafka data and building real-time streaming applications.
What Quix Streams is
Quix Streams is a free, open-source Python library for processing Kafka data and building real-time streaming applications. Its StreamingDataFrame API supports transforming, filtering, updating, and producing data, including windowed aggregations and event-time windows. Stateful operations use RocksDB. Serialization formats include bytes, string, integer, double, JSON, Avro, and Protobuf. Processing supports at-least-once delivery by default and exactly-once guarantees. The library runs on Linux in self-hosted or hybrid deployments without a JVM, orchestrator, or server-side engine, and is designed to scale through container orchestration such as Kubernetes. A Kafka broker is required. Connections can use Quix Cloud, Redpanda Cloud, other supported Kafka-compatible brokers, or a self-hosted broker. A Schema Registry can be used, although Quix Cloud does not currently provide one or support configuring one directly. Developers can run the library locally or in Jupyter Notebook for development and debugging. Installation uses `python -m pip install quixstreams`. The listed plan is free.
