What Parallel is
Parallel is an online hangout app for friends who want to spend time together through games, videos, and music. Friends can meet in a shared lobby or use private groups. They can play mini-games, watch videos such as YouTube, listen to music, or sing karaoke together. Communication tools include voice chat, text chat during calls, voice changing, and voice stamps. The maker says users can keep voice chat going while playing mobile games and adjust each participant’s audio individually. It also says the app’s content does not need additional downloads. Parallel is available on iOS and Android and includes screen sharing and noise suppression. Its free plan is free; app content is free, with in-app purchases available. The company was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. The app’s rules prohibit harassment, threats, discriminatory expression, and posting or misusing personal information.
