Pangea AI Guard
Pangea AI Guard protects data and interactions in AI-powered applications that use large language models.
What Pangea AI Guard is
Pangea AI Guard protects data and interactions in AI-powered applications that use large language models. It detects prompt injection, malicious entities, personal and confidential data, secrets, language, code, competitors, custom entities, and restricted topics; early-access features cover images and prompt hardening. Configurable recipes combine detectors and can report, block, redact, encrypt, or defang detected content. Applications can connect by API, SDK, or gateway integrations including Portkey, Kong, and LiteLLM. Documented SDKs cover Python, Node.js, Go, Java, and C#. Deployment options are SaaS, Edge, and Private Cloud, with Edge and Private Cloud processing data within the customer's cloud boundary. Enabling AI Guard activates an Activity Log that records service-call details, inputs, outputs, detections, and context. Webhooks can notify users about selected detections. The current version processes up to 20 KiB of text per request. Pangea says a free account is sufficient to enable AI Guard and use its APIs.
Good
- Free Pangea account can enable AI Guard
- Recipes can report, block, redact, encrypt, or defang
- SDKs available in five listed languages
- Edge and Private Cloud keep processing within the customer cloud boundary
Watch out
- Processes up to 20 KiB of text per request
- Image and prompt-hardening features are early access
- Kong streaming responses are not currently supported
Who it suits
It suits teams protecting direct LLM interactions, agent data exchanges, or RAG ingestion and retrieval in AI-powered applications. API, SDK, and gateway options support different integration approaches.
Verdict
AI Guard combines configurable detection and content actions with integration and deployment choices for AI applications. The 20 KiB request limit and stated Kong streaming limitation are important constraints to consider.
