Orion File Recovery
Orion File Recovery is Windows software for searching drives and memory cards for deleted files.
What Orion File Recovery is
Orion File Recovery is Windows software for searching drives and memory cards for deleted files. It can scan hard drives, external and portable drives, USB and flash drives, and memory cards, and it lists recovery for files, music, and photos. A Deep Scan mode looks for additional files, while search results can be narrowed by folder, file type, or name. File preview is included, and the software opens with a wizard for searching and recovering files or permanently deleting them. Its drive scrubber overwrites deleted files to prevent future recovery and can wipe hard drives and flash drives. Orion supports FAT and NTFS file systems. The product page lists Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11. NCH says files can be recovered only if they have not been overwritten, so recovery is not guaranteed. A free version is available for non-commercial use at no cost. Paid options include Plus Home at $25 a month and Plus Commercial at $35 a month; a quarterly commercial option is listed without a price.

Verdict
Orion combines deleted-file search, preview, and drive wiping, with scans for several common storage types. Its main limitation is that overwritten files cannot be recovered, so results depend on the file still being available on the drive.
