What Optibus is

Optibus is a platform for public transportation agencies, Departments of Transportation, private operators, and shuttle providers. It brings together planning, scheduling, rostering, operations, real-time control, and passenger information. Its AI and optimization tools let users create and assess multiple transit scenarios in minutes. The platform supports real-time depot operations and sharing information with drivers and passengers, and includes tools for planning a shift to zero-emission buses and electric fleets. Optibus connects through an Open API with existing CAD/AVL, HR, payroll, and onboard hardware systems. Its Planning product imports formats such as GIS, ridership data, and static and real-time GTFS. The cloud-native service can be accessed from any location with an internet connection, and the company says updates can be made without downtime. It also describes onboarding support from data import through optimization and deployment. Optibus states that it is ISO 27001:2022 certified and SOC 2 compliant, with encryption and security controls including MFA, access management, continuous scanning, and cloud monitoring.
