Just (Video) Player is a free Android app for playing video supplied by the user. Based on Media3, formerly ExoPlayer, it supports Android 6+ and Android TV, along with many audio and video codecs, streaming formats, and subtitles. Supported streaming formats include DASH, HLS, SmoothStreaming, and RTSP; subtitle options include SRT, SSA/ASS, TTML, VTT, and DVB. Playback tools include track selection, speed adjustment, gesture seeking, brightness and volume gestures, pinch zoom, picture-in-picture, fit or crop resizing, and volume boost. HDR10+ and Dolby Vision playback are available on compatible hardware, and Android TV and boxes support automatic frame-rate matching. Bluetooth audio sync is designed to align sound when listening through earphones or speakers. The app has no interface for entering internet addresses, but can open compatible links shared from other apps, with some limitations, especially on Android 12+. Remote storage can be accessed through Android Document Providers or a file explorer; Document Providers are not supported on Android TV. Audio-only playback is not officially supported, and some older formats are not handled by upstream ExoPlayer.
