What Hyph is

Hyph is a music-creation app for Android and iOS that lets users build songs, remix artist vocals, record sounds, and share their work. Recordings can capture vocals or surrounding sounds, and users can apply filters before adding them to a track. Hyph Stems offers full-length stems, loops, and one-shots searchable by instrument, genre, key, and tempo; Hyph says these sounds are performed by musicians, not generated by AI. The Stems Marketplace desktop app allows sounds to be dragged into a DAW. Its subscription costs $4.99 a month. Marketplace terms say stems are licensed rather than sold, and subscribers may export them to third-party DAWs and commercially distribute new recordings made with them. Artists who upload vocals retain ownership of their masters and publishing, and can decide whether remixes are free, promotional, or require purchasing stems. Users can publish Hyphs in the app, download them, or release them elsewhere; remixes using artist vocals can also be shared on social media. The app has a free plan, and its privacy policy says the services are intended for users based in the United States.
