Guitar Tab Maker
Summary
Guitar Tab Maker is a free in-browser editor for writing guitar tablature from scratch, one fret at a time. Its six-line grid accepts fret numbers from 0 to 24, and multiple notes can be stacked in a column to make a chord. Tuning presets include Standard, Drop D, DADGAD, Open G, and Eb Standard; users can also set tempo in BPM. Notes can be marked with hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides, bends, or dead notes, and columns support whole, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth note values. The editor displays standard notation alongside the tab and plays it back with sound. You can paste a standard six-line ASCII tab to continue editing, then download ASCII text or MIDI, or print a PDF with both notation and tablature. The tool works in modern browsers on Mac, Windows, Linux, and phones, with no installation. Its page says tabs stay in the browser instead of being uploaded to a server. Users enter every note themselves; the tool does not generate notes with AI. It does not export Guitar Pro (.gp) files, and audio recording is not supported.
Who it is for
Guitar Tab Maker suits people who already know a guitar part and want to write it down, such as a riff, lesson, or musical idea. It can also help users continue editing an existing six-line ASCII tab.
