What Google Rich Results Test is
Google Rich Results Test is a free web tool for checking structured data and identifying rich result types a page may enable in Google Search. Test a full URL or paste a code snippet, and rerun either kind of test. It supports JSON-LD, RDFa, and Microdata, and can render JavaScript. Tests can use a smartphone or desktop user agent, with smartphone selected by default. Results identify rich result types and report errors or suggestions; an explorer shows relevant rendered source code. For some result types, the tool previews possible Search or Google Assistant appearances, including desktop and mobile layouts when available. Results can be shared through a browser link without permissions, and the test code and state are saved. Shared links and bookmarked history are available for approximately 90 days. Use is anonymous and does not require Search Console permissions, but the tested page and its resources must be accessible to anonymous internet users. Google says a local or firewalled page can be exposed through a public tunnel. A preview is not guaranteed to match or appear in eventual Search results.
