What Doxy is
Doxy is a web-based document chat app for asking questions about files and other source material. Upload documents, organize them into projects and ask questions in plain language; answers cite the documents used so you can check them against the originals. Supported sources include PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, image, audio, HTML, CSV, ZIP and EPUB files, as well as web links and YouTube URLs. For YouTube links, Doxy uses the video transcript as source material. You can upload documents and ask questions in many languages, and answers follow the question's language where the source supports it. Pro and Business plans add multiple-choice quizzes with explanations and open-ended practice exercises from selected sources. Free allows 3 documents, 20 questions per month and files up to 10 MB. Pro costs $4.99 a month; Business costs $9.99 a month. An account is required. Document content and questions are transmitted to OpenAI for embeddings and answer generation; the privacy policy says API data is not used to train models.
