Clownfish for Skype

What Clownfish for Skype is

Clownfish for Skype translates Skype messages so users can write in their own language and recipients receive translated text. The maker says it supports more than 50 languages, with Google, Bing, SysTran, PROMT and Yandex available as translation services. It also provides real-time spell checking compatible with OpenOffice dictionaries and can read incoming messages aloud using text-to-speech. Other included tools are predefined greetings, ASCII art, broadcast messages, avatars and email notifications. The software is free, with a listed plan at no cost. The site lists Linux, macOS and Windows; the current download section names Windows XP through Windows 10 and says the installer supports all Skype versions. Legacy downloads are offered for legacy Skype versions on Windows, Mac and Linux. Clownfish operates as a standalone client to the Skype network and requires a Skype username and password. The maker says users can encrypt messages, while the license states that the software is provided as is without warranty. The site invites users to send proposals, report problems or share ideas through its contact form.
