CiteWise
CiteWise is a web research platform for generating citations, finding academic papers, and organizing sources.
What CiteWise is
CiteWise is a web research platform for generating citations, finding academic papers, and organizing sources. It supports APA, MLA, Chicago, Vancouver, Harvard, IEEE, and other styles. Paste a DOI, URL, or ISBN to retrieve source metadata such as authors, title, journal, year, and volume. Its AI search accepts research questions in plain language, and a pasted URL or DOI can produce a summary with key findings, methodology, and metadata. My Library organizes saved papers into project folders and provides full-text search with filters. Bibliographies export as TXT, BibTeX, or RIS for use with Word, LaTeX, Overleaf, Zotero, Mendeley, or other reference managers. The free browser tier works without sign-up, but saving a library across sessions and using advanced features requires an account. The Free account plan includes 50 citations, 3 AI searches, 3 AI paper summaries, 1 project, and 10 library items. Paid plans are Student at €5 a month, Professional at €10 a month, and Expert at €20 a month; prices exclude VAT, calculated at checkout based on location. CiteWise says it uses EU servers and encryption, and is GDPR compliant.
