Checkr Tenant is a web-based tenant-screening service for landlords. It offers criminal history, credit, eviction, identity, and income checks, with screening options organized into three per-screening plans: Starter at $24.99, paid once, Essential at $34.99, paid once, and Complete at $44.99, paid once. Criminal searches include national databases, county courts, sex offender registries, and global watchlists. Credit checks are soft inquiries that Checkr Tenant says do not affect an applicant’s credit score. Income verification uses the applicant’s bank account to show average monthly income, income sources, and rent-to-income ratio. Applicants receive a unique link by SMS or email and daily reminders until they complete the screening steps. Landlords can begin with an applicant’s name, date of birth, and email, but landlords and property managers must verify their identity. International background checks are unavailable, and Social Security numbers are not required.
