Summary
Backdrop is an AI wallpaper generator for iPhone that creates phone-first images around a user's interests. Users can describe a scene, mood, subject, color palette, or style, and can optionally choose a photo as a visual reference. Backdrop says it does not store selected reference photos, and its photo picker accesses only the image the user selects. Wallpapers can be created on demand or delivered each morning. Apple Shortcuts can apply a new daily wallpaper automatically without opening the app. Designs leave space for the clock, widgets, and icons. Anyone can browse and save global wallpapers, while new accounts receive three creation credits. Backdrop Pro costs $3.99 per month and includes a personalized daily wallpaper, 15 monthly creation credits, visual references, feedback, and remixes. The app requires iOS 17.0 or later. Backdrop says it does not sell personal information or show third-party ads in its services. Account deletion removes the active profile, generated wallpaper records and images, prompts, and related generation records.
