What Ark is

Ark is a fund operations platform for private capital managers and administrators, bringing together fund accounting, LP reporting, investor relations and fundraising. Its accounting tools include a fund-specific general ledger, real-time financial data, configurable reporting and automated workflows. Ark can calculate investor allocations and waterfalls, including carried interest, and export reports to Excel with formulas. Its arkLink plug-in syncs reports with spreadsheets for building, reconciling and refreshing them. A branded investor portal presents real-time data to LPs and connects with the fund back office. Fundraising tools include configurable data rooms, investor insights and document management. Bank integrations support reconciliation, cash position checks and capital-call payment verification, with automated journal entries. Ark also describes API-based general-ledger connectivity and capital account tracking. It says data is encrypted, storage is secure, access is controlled and the platform is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant. Its infrastructure and applications continuously replicate data and use multiple layers of availability and redundancy. The service is available on the web and through an API; pricing is an annual fee based on committed capital and is not shown as a numeric amount.
