What AI Alt Text Generator is
AI Alt Text Generator is a WordPress plugin that creates descriptive image alt text for accessibility and image SEO. It can generate text in bulk or automatically when images are uploaded, and can use the title of the page or post associated with an image for context. For SEO context, it can incorporate focus keyphrases from Yoast SEO, Rank Math, and SEOPress. Users may supply their own OpenAI or Anthropic API key and select a vision-capable model. Prompts can be customized and previewed before applying them to images, and WP-CLI commands cover generation, status checks, and provider setup. The free plan covers 50 images per month per site; additional paid credit plans are available, and the pricing note lists paid plans from $29 per year. The optional Pro add-on includes WooCommerce product context, scheduled background scans, coverage analytics, automatic updates, and priority support. Images and metadata go to an external AI service for processing; the listing says they are not retained on the maker’s servers beyond what is needed to return results.
