AI-generated music is not automatically illegal, but using it can still raise copyright, consent, licensing, and platform-policy issues. For Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO users making a soundtrack on a phone, the safer approach is to create original material, avoid imitating identifiable artists or using unlicensed uploads, and check the generator’s terms and the destination platform’s rules before publishing or monetizing it. A tool’s commercial-use license does not by itself establish that a track is copyrightable everywhere.
What Copyright Protects In AI-Generated Music
In the United States, the Copyright Office says music generated entirely by AI is not copyrightable, and prompts alone do not make the person entering them the author. A mixed work may receive protection for its human-authored parts, but that does not automatically extend to the AI-generated material. If a US registration application includes more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material, the applicant must disclose it and describe the human author’s contribution. The Copyright Office’s AI report explains these distinctions.

1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThat is a US-specific account of copyrightability, not a universal rule for every country or a ruling on whether a particular track infringes someone else’s rights. The sources here do not establish the law in every Xiaomi user’s location. Check local rules and the terms that apply to your intended use; ask a qualified local professional if you need advice on a specific release.
Where The Ethical And Legal Risks Arise
Artist Imitation, Voices, And Covers
A prompt asking for a living singer’s voice or a track that could pass as that person’s performance raises consent and deception concerns. Spotify said in September 2025 that vocal impersonation is allowed only when the impersonated artist has authorized it. Do not treat a generator’s ability to accept a prompt as permission to use someone’s identity. For covers or voice cloning, get the relevant consent and check the generator’s terms and the rights required for the recording and composition; the supplied sources do not establish a blanket clearance for either. Spotify’s announced AI protections describe its impersonation policy.

Uploaded Audio, Lyrics, And Samples
Uploading a song, sample, or someone else’s voice for a reference or remix can introduce rights issues even if the generated result sounds different. Use material you made or have permission to use, and read the tool’s upload terms before submitting it. The supplied facts do not establish that any listed generator clears rights in user uploads or in every resulting similarity.
Commercial Licenses And Ownership Are Different Questions
A vendor may grant permission to use a track commercially under its terms. That permission is distinct from whether copyright law recognizes the track as protected, and from whether a streaming service or video platform will accept or monetize it. Read the current plan terms for the exact account and track, including any attribution, disclosure, or distribution conditions.

What The Listed Generators Say About Rights
The table separates stated commercial-use information from copyright status. “Not stated” means the supplied product facts do not establish that detail; check the linked vendor site and current terms before use. These vendor statements are not independent verification that a particular track is cleared against every possible claim.
| Generator | Stated rights information | Practical limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Suno | Its fact page says songs created as a paid subscriber are yours to use, and describes commercial-use rights on Pro. | Its Free plan does not include commercial rights. Check the plan terms that apply to the track. |
| Eleven Music | Describes generated tracks as cleared for broad commercial use, with rights varying by subscription tier. | Its stated exclusions include film, TV, and studio games. Check the terms for your tier and intended use. |
| Loudly | States that a commercial license is included and describes its training principles as rights-safe. | Paid licensing rights depend on plan terms. Check the license for your project. |
| Musicful | States that downloaded music comes with a non-exclusive perpetual license for content use and monetization; Musicful retains ownership. | Its product facts say commercial use is limited to Standard/Pro; Free/Basic is non-commercial. |
| Songin.ai | States that paid-plan music has full commercial rights; its free plan is personal use only. | Free downloads are watermarked MP3 files for personal use. Check current paid-plan terms. |
| Tunee | States that paid subscribers get commercial rights and free users may use music for personal projects with attribution. | Tunee says copyright law is evolving and it cannot guarantee copyright protection. |
| Sunp | States that commercial use is available on paid plans. | Its facts describe paid plans as the path to commercial publishing, certificates, and repeatable project use under its current license agreement. |
| AISongGen | States that paid plans include a commercial license and that each export receives a per-track license keyed to the account. | Free use is for creating and listening; downloading, publishing, and monetizing require a paid plan. |
| Beatoven.ai | States it is Fairly Trained certified and says a monetization license is delivered with each download. | Check the delivered license for the intended use and any limits. |
| Ecrett Music | States that its music can be used in commercial projects and YouTube monetization, with a license applying to the individual. | Its site also says users may share or distribute music they create. Check the individual license terms before a release. |
A Safer Phone Workflow Before You Publish
- Start with an original brief. Describe the use, mood, tempo, instrumentation, and structure in your own words. For example: “Create an original, calm instrumental loop for a 20-second phone home-screen tutorial, with soft synth pads and a light percussion pulse; no vocals, no samples, and no imitation of a named artist.” This example is a prompt, not a guarantee that a particular generator supports every control or produces a cleared result.
- Keep source material clean. Use lyrics and audio you created or have permission to use. Avoid uploading commercial recordings or another person’s voice unless you have the needed permission and have checked the tool’s upload terms.
- Save the paperwork with the track. Keep the prompt, export, account and plan details, date, and a copy of the applicable license or terms. For any substantial human contribution, keep the drafts or edits that show what you authored. This record-keeping does not itself create copyright or prove clearance.
- Check the use before export or release. Confirm that the plan covers your specific destination and purpose, such as a monetized tutorial, podcast, game, or streaming release. Check attribution, disclosure, and distribution requirements in the generator’s terms.
- Review the finished audio and presentation. Listen for recognizable melodies, voices, or samples that you did not intend to use. Do not label an AI persona or synthetic performance in a way that misleads viewers about a real person.
What Xiaomi, Redmi, And POCO Users Should Check On YouTube And Spotify
Spotify announced in September 2025 that it supports DDEX AI disclosures in credits and uses a filter for mass uploads and duplicates; the announcement said it had removed more than 75 million spammy tracks in the preceding 12 months. In August 2026, Spotify announced an “AI Persona” badge for artist identities that may be AI-generated rather than real people. These are Spotify policies and labels, not a general copyright clearance. Spotify’s AI Persona announcement describes the badge.

YouTube’s “inauthentic content” monetization policy targets mass-produced, repetitive, or template-based uploads; AI use alone is not the stated target. YouTube also requires disclosure of realistic altered or synthetic content that could be mistaken for a real person’s performance. The supplied policy coverage is based on a dated policy timeline and coverage of YouTube’s clarification. Check the current platform rules when uploading because policies can change.
For a phone-based workflow, Suno and Musicful are the only products in this list whose supplied facts explicitly include Android apps. That establishes Android availability, not that every editing control or rights document is available in the app. If you choose another generator, its platform support is not established here; check its vendor site before relying on a mobile workflow.
