Today, May 23rd marks the first day of availability for the Redmi A2 series in the country. Let’s take a closer look at the specifications, features, and pricing of these devices.
The Redmi A2 is offered in three variants: 2 GB RAM + 32 GB storage, 2 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. Pricing for these models is set at Rs 6,299, Rs 6,799, and Rs 7,999, respectively. Customers using ICICI Bank credit cards or opting for credit card EMI can enjoy a discount of Rs 300 on the 2 GB RAM variants and Rs 500 on the 4 GB RAM variant. HDFC and Axis Bank credit cardholders and credit card EMI users can avail of a Rs 500 discount on all Redmi A2 variants.
The Redmi A2+, available only in a 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage configuration, is priced at Rs 8,499. Both the Redmi A2 and A2+ are offered in Classic Black, Aqua Blue, and Sea Green color options. Consumers can purchase these smartphones through the Mi Store app, Mi.com, Amazon India, as well as offline stores. A limited-time two-year warranty is provided for both models.
In terms of specifications, the Redmi A2 features a 6.52-inch IPS LCD panel with a teardrop notch, HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 60Hz refresh rate, a 120Hz touch sampling rate, and 400 nits of brightness. The device sports a smudge-proof leather finish on the back panel and runs on Android 13 (Go edition).

For photography, the Redmi A2 offers a 5 MP front camera for selfies and an 8 MP dual-camera setup with an LED flash on the back. It is powered by the Helio G36 chipset, offers up to 4 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 64 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. Additionally, the phone includes a dedicated microSD card slot for expandable storage and houses a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.
The Redmi A2+ shares the same specifications and design as the Redmi A2 but adds a rear-facing fingerprint sensor for added convenience.
