Xiaomi is reported to be working on a new CIVI variant that could be up for grabs towards the second half of this year. Tentatively named the CIVI 3, the upcoming iteration in the CIVI family is expected to apply to both sexes compared to the CIVI 2 that the company had first introduced in September 2022 and was largely female oriented. Apart from the CIVI 3, Xiaomi is also reported to have another version in the form of the CIVI 2s ready for launch towards Q2, 2023.
Xiaomi CIVI 3
Meanwhile, a Chinese tipster seems to have some key details of the CIVI 3 to share. As per what the tipster stated, the upcoming Xiaomi CIVI 3 will be featuring the Dimensity 8200 chipset this time instead of a Snapdragon processor that all other CIVI branded smartphones have come with. Also, it is not going to be a 2K display for the CIVI 3, which likely points to the phone coming with a Full HD+ display similar to the current gen versions of the phone. Unfortunately, there is nothing else that we know about the CIVI 3 at the moment.
It is also not known what the design of the CIVI 3 is going to be like. The CIVI 2 had an attractive exterior which includes an AMOLED display with curved edges. The CIVI 2 also comes with a pill shaped hole cut-out which accommodated a dual front camera system. It is only going to be a guess at the moment whether the CIVI 3 will also share the same exterior features as the CIVI 2 or if it will have something even more special.
Xiaomi 13 Lite
Meanwhile, the CIVI 3 isn’t the only smartphone that Xiaomi is working on right now as the company is also known to be engaged with the development of the Xiaomi 13 Lite as well. In fact, it is the Xiaomi 13 Lite that seems to be the closest to a market launch at the moment considering that it has already made it to the IMEI database as well as the Google Play Console. The Xiaomi 13 Lite is also known to have a global launch and is also considered to be a CIVI 2 in reality but with some tweaks introduced here and there.
As for the likely specs of the Xiaomi 13 Lite, it likely will sport a 6.55-inch AMOLED display having FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. However, the Xiaomi 13 Lite is projected to come with a single lens front camera compared to a double lens front camera for the CIVI 2. Further, the Xiaomi 13 Lite is also speculated to come with a triple camera arrangement having a 50 MP primary sensor.
Making up the core of the phone is likely to be the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset paired with up to 6 gigs of memory and 256 GB of storage on the top model. A 4,5000 mAh battery would likely light up the phone and would be backed by a 67W fast charger. The phone will come pre-loaded with Android 13 right away.
