Xiaomi is reported to be working on a new high-end tablet device that will succeed the Xiaomi Pad 5 that was launched last year. There have been rumors of the Xiaomi Pad 6 – as the upcoming flagship tablet is being referred to now – getting launched this year itself. However, with the year drawing to a close, it is all but a surety that the tablet will only be launched in 2023. A new leak has also confirmed the above and has also revealed the probable launch window as well, which it claimed is going to be around the beginning of Q2, 2023.
In reality, there are going to be two versions of the Xiaomi Pad 6 set for launch in the coming months. Specifically, it is the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro coming our way and are identified by the codenamed Pipa and Liuqin respectively. Understandably, the Lipa is going to be the base model and is tipped to come powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset. The Xiaomi Pad Pro aka Liuquin might come with the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset.
The tipster further claimed the tablet could feature 11-inch or 12-inch OLED displays having super thin bezels on all sides. Some reports had earlier claimed the AMOLED display on the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro will have a resolution of 2880 x 1880 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The tablets are also expected to come with a dual camera arrangement at the rear along the upper left corner. Plus, the tablet is also likely to come with support for stylus input, quad speakers, NFC, and a keyboard cover. A dual-cell battery too is expected to be common for both the models.
The tipster also claimed a mid-range tablet under the Redmi brand is also in the making though there is almost nothing that we know of it at the moment.
