Xiaomi introduced its latest smartphone, the Redmi 12C, in Indonesia only recently. Now, the company seems to be preparing to launch the device in India soon. Xiaomi has created a new microsite on its official Indian website to announce the launch of its new Redmi 12C model, which is expected to take place on March 30, 2023. Although the microsite does not disclose much information, we can expect that the device will have the same features as the global version. The Redmi 12C comes with a large 6.71-inch LCD display that has an HD+ resolution, a waterdrop notch, a 20.6:9 aspect ratio, a 1,500:1 contrast ratio, and 500 nits of peak brightness.
The Redmi 12C, a budget smartphone from Xiaomi, comes powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, coupled with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 internal storage. The Redmi 12C runs on Android 12 OS based MIUI 13 and features a 50 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera for selfies. Xiaomi promises at least two major Android updates and three years of security updates.
The Redmi 12C also comes with a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging rates. Other features include dual SIM support, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS, a micro USB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a MicroSD card slot to allow for the addition of more storage. The device is expected to be priced similarly to its launch in Indonesia, where it came in three variants – 3 GB + 32 GB, 4 GB + 64 GB, and 4 GB + 128 GB. More details are avoided. Stay tuned.
