Overview

SelfX combines point-of-sale and ordering tools with kitchen and stock workflows for food-service and retail businesses. It is best suited to operators who want those functions under one roof, especially restaurants balancing counter, table, and kitchen orders. Its tiered terminal limits make the right plan depend on how many checkout points and kitchen screens a location needs.

Key features

Checkout and ordering

The cloud POS handles checkout and real-time analytics, while QR table ordering lets customers place and pay for orders without going to the counter. Staff can also take orders and payments through a handheld POS app. Item modifiers and integrated payments support customized orders and payment processing as part of the same workflow.

Self-ordering kiosks extend ordering to Android devices. The integrations include payment providers Stripe, Razorpay, PhonePe, and Pine Labs; delivery services Zomato, Swiggy, UberEats, and DoorDash; and accounting tools Tally Prime, QuickBooks, Xero, and Zoho Books. Enterprise clients can build custom connectors through the open API architecture, which gives larger operations room to connect other systems.

Kitchen and inventory

Front-of-house orders sync with kitchen monitors through the Kitchen Display System (KDS). That connection is useful for keeping order handoff visible to the kitchen, while the paid plans' different screen and terminal limits matter to operators outfitting multiple stations.

The Owner App tracks inventory down to ingredients, issues low-stock alerts, and can generate purchase orders automatically. This reaches beyond sales reporting to help operators catch stock needs before they become a service problem.

Continuity, setup, and support

Local terminals can keep taking orders during an internet outage and sync data to the cloud once service returns. SelfX says most restaurants complete setup within 24–48 hours with onboarding guidance. Support includes ticketing, a knowledge base, phone service Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and WhatsApp.

Its privacy policy describes SSL and AES-256 encryption, restricted access to personal information, and PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance, with card data tokenized immediately.

Pricing

SelfX has a free plan and paid plans billed monthly. The free tier is a narrow entry point; the paid tiers spell out more capacity for operators planning their checkout and kitchen setup.

Plan	Price and terms	What it includes
Free Start Plan	Custom pricing	1 billing terminal and unlimited menu items
Smart Growth Plan	₹4,999.00 INR per month, billed monthly	Up to 3 POS terminals and KDS
Pro Power Plan	₹12,999.00 INR per month, billed monthly	Unlimited POS terminals and KDS screens
Franchise & Hotel	Custom pricing	Multi-store central hub and unlimited outlets

Free Start suits a small operation that can work with one billing terminal, but it does not provide the stated multi-terminal capacity of Smart Growth. At ₹4,999.00 INR per month, Smart Growth is the more defined fit for a restaurant with up to three POS terminals and KDS needs. Pro Power costs substantially more, but removes the stated terminal and screen caps for businesses that need to equip more stations. Franchise & Hotel is aimed at multi-store operators; its custom pricing means it is not directly comparable by monthly price.

Platforms

SelfX supports Android, iOS, web, Windows, and API access. Kiosks run on Android, while the broader platform mix gives operators options across mobile, browser, and desktop environments.

Who it's for

SelfX is a strong fit for restaurants, cafés, food courts, and cloud kitchens that need checkout, table ordering, kitchen coordination, and ingredient-level stock tracking together. Retail businesses and multi-location chains are also within its stated audience. A single-terminal business may find Free Start sufficient, while larger operators should compare the monthly terminal and KDS limits against their actual station count. It is less compelling for buyers who need only a narrowly focused kiosk tool or prefer a clearly priced multi-store plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: QR table ordering, handheld POS, and Android kiosks cover several ordering paths rather than only counter checkout.
Pro: Ingredient-level tracking, low-stock alerts, and purchase-order generation connect inventory work to daily operations.
Pro: Offline order-taking and later cloud sync help maintain service during internet interruptions.
Pro: Smart Growth and Pro Power specify terminal and KDS capacity, making their operational scale easier to assess.
Con: Free Start is limited to one billing terminal, so a growing venue may need to move to a paid plan for additional POS capacity.
Con: Franchise & Hotel uses custom pricing, leaving multi-store buyers without a fixed monthly figure for budgeting.

Verdict

Choose SelfX if your restaurant needs one connected system for checkout, multiple ordering routes, kitchen handoff, and ingredient-level inventory, and its terminal limits fit your operation. Its offline ordering and range of restaurant integrations strengthen that case. Look elsewhere if kiosk ordering alone is your priority or if you need a published price for multi-store capacity before committing.
