Overview

ShopSavvy compares prices across thousands of retailers and says its catalogue spans more than 100 million products. Made by Monolith Technologies Inc., which says it has operated since 2008, the service combines consumer shopping tools with a Data API covering product information from tens of thousands of retailers and sellers.

For shoppers, the draw is combining current comparisons with price history and alerts. For organizations, the API adds product details, prices, availability, deals, reviews, and historical data. These are distinct use cases, and the paid API plans should not be confused with consumer pricing: the company says its consumer service is completely free.

Key features

Compare in stores and online

The mobile app scans product barcodes and compares prices across stores, making it useful when checking a physical item against other offers. ShopSavvy also supports product comparison and visual search. Its stated coverage is broad, though the service describes its catalogue size rather than guaranteeing that every item or retailer will be represented.

Track prices and stock

Users can put products on a watchlist and get price-drop alerts by email or notification. Back-in-stock alerts apply at supported retailers, so that feature is useful when availability matters but does not cover every seller. Multi-retailer price history helps put a current price in context and can inform whether to buy or wait; it is a decision aid, not a promise of future prices.

Desktop assistant and API

The desktop app offers a conversational shopping agent to compare products, prices, and deals. The Data API is the more business-oriented side: it supplies product and offer data, and its integrations directory names tools and SDKs for Python, TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and OpenAI Functions. That breadth can suit teams building product-data workflows, while the credit-based plans make usage volume an important cost consideration.

Pricing

The consumer service is completely free to use, so shoppers can access its core comparison and tracking proposition without a consumer subscription charge. A separate pricing note says paid plans start at $2.99/mo, but the published API tiers begin at substantially higher monthly prices; confirm which offering that lower starting price applies to before budgeting for API access.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	0.00 USD per free	Fast responses and a basic model.
Starter	49.00 USD per month	1,000 API credits/month, all API endpoints, JSON and CSV, usage analytics dashboard, email support, and a 14-day free trial.
Professional	199.00 USD per month	10,000 API credits/month, all API endpoints, JSON and CSV, usage analytics dashboard, and priority email support.
Enterprise	499.00 USD per month	50,000 API credits/month, all API endpoints, JSON and CSV, usage analytics dashboard, and priority support.
Custom	Custom pricing	Unlimited API credits, custom credit limits, volume discounts, dedicated support, and custom SLAs.

Starter is the lowest paid API tier and is the sensible starting point for modest, measurable usage; its 1,000-credit allowance is the constraint to watch. Professional raises that cap tenfold and adds priority email support, which better suits heavier use. Enterprise offers 50,000 credits and priority support for larger workloads. Custom pricing is the fit when fixed quotas or standard terms do not suit, but it is not a self-serve price point. The plans describe credits rather than seats, and only Starter specifies a trial length: 14 days.

Platforms

ShopSavvy lists Android, iOS, web, browser extension, API, Windows, Mac, and Linux support. The desktop download page specifies Windows 10+ and Apple Silicon or Intel Mac options; Linux is also named as a desktop platform. This cross-device spread suits shoppers who switch between phone and computer, as well as API users working across development environments.

Who it's for

ShopSavvy is a strong fit for value-conscious shoppers who compare before buying, especially those comfortable waiting for a price drop or restock alert. The barcode scanner connects in-store browsing with online comparisons, while price history gives patient buyers more context than a single current offer.

Developers and businesses that need product, offer, review, and historical data across many retailers should assess the API tiers by expected credit consumption. The free API tier is limited to fast responses and a basic model, while paid plans add defined monthly credits and broader support. ShopSavvy is less compelling for teams that need predictable unlimited use at a fixed public price, or shoppers seeking a service whose stated strength is not comparison and tracking.

Pros and cons

Pros: Barcode scanning, retailer comparisons, price history, price-drop alerts, and supported-retailer stock alerts cover several stages of a shopping decision.
Pros: The consumer service is free, keeping the shopper-facing comparison tools separate from API subscription costs.
Pros: The API spans product details, prices, availability, deals, reviews, and historical data, with named SDKs and integrations for common development tools.
Cons: API usage is quota-based on Starter, Professional, and Enterprise, so teams must match expected demand to credits or consider custom pricing.
Cons: Back-in-stock alerts depend on retailer support, limiting their usefulness for items sold through unsupported stores.
Cons: The $2.99/mo starting-price note does not align clearly with the published API tiers starting at 49.00 USD per month, so buyers should verify the applicable product before committing.

Verdict

Choose ShopSavvy if you want free consumer price comparisons backed by barcode scanning, historical prices, and alerts, or if your business can size API use to a monthly credit allowance. Look elsewhere if you need an API price that is unambiguously aligned to the low starting-price note, or a quota-free public tier without moving to custom pricing.
