Overview

UXPin is a design and prototyping workspace for product designers and teams that need prototypes to express interface behavior, not just screen layouts. Its coded component libraries and collaboration tools make it a strong fit for design-to-development work; the main trade-off is that prototype and AI-credit limits shape the free entry point, while paid seats add up for teams.

Key features

Prototypes can combine interactions, states, conditional flows, variables, expressions, and dynamic content. That makes UXPin better suited to demonstrating how a product responds to different inputs than to teams seeking only static mockups. Conditional logic, variables, and expressions are included in Core, so teams do not have to move to the higher tier for those behaviors.

Built-in coded libraries include MUI, Tailwind UI, and Ant Design. For teams already working with those systems, this gives prototypes a closer connection to coded components. Design-system support and developer handoff reinforce that workflow, though the value depends on whether a team uses the supported approach.

Teams can collaborate in real time and share prototypes with unlimited viewers and commenters, with both public and team comments. That keeps review access from being tied to a small viewer allowance. Integrations include Slack, FullStory, Jira, Storybook, Git, a Figma plugin, and Sketch import, covering several design, development, and feedback workflows.

Version history varies by tier: Core keeps seven days, Growth keeps 30 days, and Enterprise offers unlimited history. Growth also adds roles and permissions, SSO, and two-factor authentication, making it the more appropriate tier for teams that need those administrative and security controls.

Pricing

UXPin has a limited Free plan, paid seat-based plans, and custom pricing for Enterprise. The Free plan includes two prototypes and 50 AI credits, then remains limited after the 14-day trial ends. It is useful for trying the workflow, but the prototype cap makes it a poor fit for ongoing work across multiple projects.

Core costs 49.00 USD per month per seat when billed monthly, or 29.00 USD per month per seat billed yearly, a 40% saving. It includes unlimited prototypes, 200 AI credits per month, and seven-day version history. Core suits individuals and small teams that need the full prototyping capacity without Growth's administration features.

Growth costs 69.00 USD per month per seat billed monthly, or 40.00 USD per month per seat billed yearly, also a 40% saving. It raises the monthly AI allowance to 500 credits and extends history to 30 days, while adding roles and permissions, SSO, and two-factor authentication. Growing teams that need those controls may find the premium worthwhile; smaller teams may not need them.

Enterprise has custom pricing, unlimited prototypes, custom AI credits, and unlimited version history, with a security review. It is aimed at large organizations that need that scale and review process. The free trial lasts 14 days. Additional AI credits start at 200 for $13/month, which can help when a plan's monthly allowance is too low, but adds recurring cost.

Platforms

UXPin runs in the cloud and supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. UXPin has desktop apps for Mac and Windows, while Mirror apps are available for iOS and Android. This gives teams desktop creation and mobile review options across major platforms.

Who it's for

UXPin is best for solo designers, small teams, and product organizations that need interactive prototypes, coded libraries, team review, and developer handoff in one workflow. Students in degree or diploma programs can use it for free after verification. Teams focused on static screens, or those unable to justify per-seat billing and AI-credit limits, should consider a simpler or less costly fit.

Pros and cons

Pros: Prototypes support logic, variables, and dynamic content, making them useful for communicating behavior as well as appearance.
Pros: Unlimited viewers and commenters plus real-time collaboration make broad review practical without a viewer cap.
Pros: Coded libraries, design-system support, and developer handoff connect design work to development workflows.
Cons: Free is capped at two prototypes and 50 AI credits, limiting its usefulness beyond evaluation.
Cons: Monthly paid plans are priced per seat, and AI credits are capped by tier, so larger or heavier-usage teams need to budget accordingly.
Cons: Core has only seven days of version history; longer retention requires Growth or Enterprise.

Alternatives

For teams looking at a different kind of AI-assisted design workflow, Paper has a free plan with unlimited viewers and editors, 100 weekly MCP tool calls, limited image generation, and a 25 MB image-size cap.

Figma Make is another freemium option, with 150 AI credits per day and 500 per month on Starter; Professional Full seat costs 16.00 USD per month and includes 3,000 AI credits per month.

Coherent is worth considering for teams that prefer a free, open-source option: its forever-free plan includes unlimited projects, validators with auto-fix, and support for bringing your own LLM key.

Relume offers a free site-builder tier limited to one project and one page, with read-only sharing and 30 Webflow and 30 React components.

Visily may suit readers seeking a freemium option with a Starter allowance of 300 AI credits per month and limited boards and elements.

UX Pilot offers a free start with the first design free, while its Enterprise plan includes an API, SSO, team access controls, and design-system integration.

EaseUI has a free tier with one generation session of six variants and basic preview.

Marmo UI provides a free tier with MIT-licensed core components, unlimited projects, and no rate limits.

Verdict

Choose UXPin if your team needs behavior-rich prototypes that connect to coded libraries and can be reviewed collaboratively before handoff. Its strongest case is the combination of interactive logic, broad sharing, and development workflow support. Look elsewhere if two prototypes and 50 AI credits are too restrictive for a free workflow, or if per-seat plans and tiered credit allowances do not suit your budget.
