Overview

OpenPartner brings partner attribution and payouts together for SaaS and ecommerce businesses, as well as creators promoting brands. Its mix of hosted plans and self-hosted software suits programs that want control over deployment as well as tracking.

The optional OpenPartner Network lets brands publish programs for creators to browse and apply. OpenPartner is not a link shortener, CRM, fraud-detection ML platform, or merchant of record, so it is a poor fit if those jobs are central to your stack.

Key features

Attribution and partner portal: Multi-touch attribution and a 90-day cookie window give programs a defined basis for crediting partner activity. Partners get a portal, while brands can manage links and campaigns.
Payouts: Automated payouts run through Stripe Connect, with brands paying partners directly. OpenPartner does not hold funds, which keeps payment custody with the brand and payment provider.
API and integrations: API access is available, with documented Stripe Billing webhooks and CRM event workflows for HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Close, Copper, Zapier, and Make. This breadth is useful for connecting partner events to existing billing and CRM processes.
Browser SDK: The @openpartner/sdk package ships ESM and CJS bundles, has no runtime dependencies, and is about 4 KB gzipped. That modest footprint is an advantage for teams integrating tracking in a browser application.
Security and hosting: OpenPartner states that it uses TLS in transit, encrypts sensitive credentials at rest, supports magic-link authentication and scoped sessions, and keeps an immutable audit trail. Hosted data residency is currently in the US; DPA support is available on request, while SOC 2 Type II is planned rather than achieved.
Self-hosting: Docker Compose runs Postgres, the API, click router, and portal on one machine. It requires Docker 24+ and at least 2GB RAM, so the free option avoids a license bill but still calls for infrastructure and operational ownership.

Pricing

OpenPartner has a free plan, paid options, and a 14-day trial. The percentage-based fees make expected GMV as important as the stated monthly charge when comparing plans.

Revshare — 3.00 USD per month (billed 3% of GMV, no monthly fee): Unlimited partners, links, and campaigns, core attribution and payout features, direct Stripe payouts, Network access, and standard support. It suits programs that want the full core workflow without a fixed monthly fee, but the 3% GMV charge can weigh heavily as partner-driven sales grow.
Flex — 491.50 USD per month (billed $49 per month + 1.5% of GMV): Includes unlimited partners, links, and campaigns, affiliate and referral attribution tied to revenue, direct Stripe payouts, Network access, standard support, and full data export. The lower GMV percentage and export make it more compelling for larger or more data-conscious programs, though it adds a fixed monthly charge.
Enterprise — custom pricing: Dedicated infrastructure, priority support, custom payout flows, and SLA-backed uptime target businesses that need operational commitments or tailored payout handling.
Self-hosted software — 0.00 USD per free: Runs on your infrastructure and includes the open-source core. It is the cost-conscious choice for teams able to operate the required Docker deployment themselves.
Self-hosted + Network access — 293.00 USD per month (billed $29 per month + 3%): Adds marketplace-driven partner discovery to the self-hosted core. It fits teams that want control of deployment but also want Network access; the ongoing percentage fee still needs to be weighed against GMV.

Platforms

OpenPartner is offered as a web product and API, with a self-hosted deployment option. The self-hosted route is practical for teams comfortable maintaining a Docker-based stack; hosted plans avoid that infrastructure responsibility.

Who it's for

OpenPartner is best suited to SaaS, ecommerce, and other businesses that need partner attribution, a partner portal, and direct payout workflows, plus creators who promote brands. It is less suitable for teams seeking a standalone CRM, link shortener, ML-based fraud detection, or a merchant of record.

Pros and cons

Pro: Unlimited partners, links, and campaigns on Revshare and Flex remove those volume ceilings for growing programs.
Pro: Multi-touch attribution, a 90-day cookie window, revenue-linked attribution on Flex, and direct Stripe payouts cover central partner-program workflows.
Pro: A free open-source self-hosted core gives technically equipped teams a way to run the product on their own infrastructure.
Con: Revshare's 3% GMV fee can become costly as attributed sales rise, while Flex requires a monthly fee even before its 1.5% GMV charge.
Con: Self-hosting requires Docker 24+ and 2GB RAM minimum, making it a poor fit for teams without infrastructure capacity.
Con: Hosted data residency is US-based today, and SOC 2 Type II is still planned, which may not satisfy every compliance requirement.
Con: OpenPartner does not hold partner funds and does not replace a CRM, link shortener, fraud-detection ML platform, or merchant of record.

Alternatives

SliceWP is worth considering for a yearly-priced option: its Pro plan is 229.00 USD per year for 1 site, and Pro Plus is 349.00 USD per year; it also has a free plan but no free trial.
UpPromote offers a free plan limited to 1 affiliate program and $3,000 referral review per month, which may suit a smaller program seeking a defined free allowance.
Refersion is another freemium option with a Marketplace Listing for publishing a percent-of-sale offer so affiliates can view and apply; choose it if that marketplace listing is the priority.
Refferq offers self-hosted and managed-cloud options; consider it as an alternative if you are comparing partner referral software.
Numok has a web-based open-source plan with unlimited affiliates and no per-seat fees, making it relevant for teams focused on those limits.
PartnerStack is a paid API and web option with a Launch plan; consider it as another paid partner-program platform.
Simple Kuma is a free, web-based alternative.
TUNE is a paid API and web option with annually paid plans, including Enterprise at 899.00 USD per month and Scale at 1500.00 USD per month; consider it when comparing higher-priced partner software.

Verdict

Choose OpenPartner if you need multi-touch partner attribution, direct Stripe payout workflows, and the flexibility to host the software yourself or use a hosted plan. Its strongest case is the combination of unlimited core program volume on paid hosted plans and an open-source self-hosted route. Look elsewhere if the GMV fees do not fit your economics, you need a product that holds funds or replaces adjacent marketing tools, or your compliance requirements call for SOC 2 Type II today.
