Overview

MalMath covers algebra, calculus, trigonometry, matrices, functions and arithmetic. Step-by-step explanations make it more useful for following a method than for checking a final answer alone, while graph views add a visual way to examine problems. Photo input offers another route for entering them.

The full solver works without an internet connection, which makes it a practical study aid when connectivity is unreliable. Users can also save or share solutions and graphs. Generated practice problems span several categories and difficulty levels, so the app can support practice as well as problem checking.

A Math AI Assistant chat supports interactive follow-up questions. That is a useful addition for someone who wants to continue exploring a problem, though the scope of the assistant is not defined. MalMath is available in 13 languages on Google Play, including English, German, Spanish, French, Arabic and Japanese.

Key features

Step-by-step explanations: Broad subject coverage makes MalMath useful to learners moving between core arithmetic, algebra and more advanced topics. It is less compelling if all you need is a basic calculator.
Graphs and photo input: Graph analysis and photo-based problem entry give users alternatives to typing expressions; the ability to save or share graphs and solutions is useful for revisiting work.
Practice problems: Generated questions at several difficulty levels can help learners practice, rather than relying on the solver only when stuck.
Offline solver: The full solver works offline, a clear advantage for studying without dependable internet access.
Interactive assistant: The Math AI Assistant accepts follow-up questions in chat, adding an interactive layer to the worked-solution approach.

Pricing

MalMath is freemium. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, and the App Store describes the app as free with in-app purchases. It is the sensible starting point for readers who want to assess the core solver before paying.

The Premium in-app purchase is 2.99 USD per once. Its price is clear, but what it unlocks is not, so it is difficult to judge whether this one-time purchase suits a particular need. All access costs 4.99 USD per month or 24.99 USD per year. The monthly option fits someone who wants access for a shorter period; the annual option costs less overall than twelve monthly payments, but commits the buyer for a year. The included benefits and renewal terms are not defined, so compare the in-app options before choosing.

Platforms

MalMath is available on Android, iOS and the web. Google Play provides support at support@malmath.com. The privacy policy says the app uses Firebase Analytics to analyze usage and popular content, and says personal information is not transferred to third-party vendors. Google Play’s disclosure says no data is collected or shared with third parties and that data is encrypted in transit. The policy says the apps comply with COPPA and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Who it's for

MalMath suits high school and college students, teachers and parents looking for step-by-step math help across several subjects. Its offline solver and practice generation are particularly useful for independent study. Readers who need an explicitly defined paid feature set should be cautious about buying before confirming what each in-app option includes.

Pros and cons

Pros: Broad math coverage and step-by-step solutions support learning across multiple subjects; offline solving helps when there is no connection; graphing, photo input and generated practice provide more than answer checking alone.
Cons: The Premium purchase does not say what it unlocks, making its value hard to judge; the All access plans have prices but no defined benefits, which complicates comparison before purchase.

Alternatives

Compare math solver apps if you want to weigh MalMath against other options. MathPad is worth considering if broader platform coverage matters: it spans Android, iOS, web, desktop systems, an API and an extension, with a free plan capped at 10 daily credits and three AI Tutor trial messages per day. Mathway is another freemium solver and calculator option for Android, iOS, web and Windows, with step-by-step solutions available and an optional subscription. SnapXam may suit readers interested in algebra, trigonometry and calculus explanations through its Solve API, or algebraic factoring through its Factor API.

Cymath offers free step-by-step math solutions, with Cymath Plus at 5.00 USD per month for readers who want its paid tier. Magma Computer Algebra System is an alternative for those seeking a computer algebra system, with a free online calculator and an institutional subscription at 2580.00 AUD per year. MathBuddy may appeal to readers who want a free account with three questions per day and photo, text, paste and upload input. Mathos AI (MathGPTPro) is another freemium option, with limited image input and video generation on its free plan. Photomath is worth comparing if you want a mobile alternative with a free Basic plan and an optional annual Plus plan.

Verdict

Choose MalMath if you want a broad, offline-capable math solver that pairs worked explanations with graphs and practice problems. Its range of tools and subjects makes it a strong study companion; look elsewhere if you need clear, defined benefits before paying, since the Premium and All access options are difficult to evaluate.
