Overview

SchedulingKit combines appointment booking, payments, calendar sync, and team coordination for solo operators and growing businesses. It is most compelling when booking is only one part of the workflow; its per-member charges and capped free tier make it less attractive for users with very light needs or expanding teams on tight budgets.

The Houston-based maker ZTABS was founded in 2022, and SchedulingKit says more than 5,000 teams across 40+ countries use the service. The product spans public booking pages, reminders, CRM and automation tools, and a broad set of AI offerings, alongside mobile apps that sync bookings, contacts, and event types with the web app.

Key features

Bookings and calendars: Booking pages support group bookings, two-way calendar synchronization, and automated reminders. Connections include Google, Outlook, iCloud, Apple, and Exchange, giving users several ways to keep availability aligned.
Team coordination: Round-robin assignment, collective availability, and multi-staff scheduling make the service more relevant to shared calendars than a solo-only booking tool. Paid plans include unlimited workspaces or businesses from one login, useful for operators managing multiple brands or locations.
Payments and integrations: SchedulingKit supports payments, deposits, invoices, and automated follow-ups. Stripe and PayPal are supported for payment processing, and the homepage also names Apple Pay and Google Pay. Video links can be generated for Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex; Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, and 1,000+ apps through Zapier extend the workflow connections.
Automation and development: A REST API, real-time webhooks, and an embeddable JavaScript booking widget give organizations options beyond the built-in integrations. AI tools include a receptionist, voice agent, chatbot, AI agents, AI CRM, and AI scheduling; these broaden the product’s scope, though the core scheduling value does not depend on adopting them.
Security and access: SchedulingKit states that it encrypts data at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3, and provides role-based access, multi-factor authentication, and audit logging. It supports GDPR features including consent management, data portability, erasure tools, and a Data Processing Agreement. Public booking pages are stated to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. It is not HIPAA-compliant and does not provide a Business Associate Agreement, ruling it out for workflows that require those safeguards.

Pricing

SchedulingKit has a free plan and a 14-day trial. After the trial, accounts move to Free unless the user subscribes; the pricing page says users can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade at any time. Paid plans charge per active team member across all workspaces, so multi-workspace access does not remove the seat cost.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	0.00 USD per free, free forever	1 team member, 1 event type, 50 bookings per month, 1 calendar connection, and 1 workspace.
Standard	10.00 USD per month billed annually; $12/seat/month monthly	For solo professionals; unlimited event types and bookings, 6 calendar connections, 100 SMS credits per month, and unlimited workspaces/businesses.
Pro	16.00 USD per month billed annually; $20/seat/month monthly	For growing businesses; unlimited calendar connections and 250 SMS credits per month.
Business	30.00 USD per month billed annually; $36/seat/month monthly	For teams at scale; 500 SMS credits per month and priority support.
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Unlimited SMS credits, dedicated support, custom integrations, SLA guarantees, and volume discounts.

Free is a useful way to try the basic workflow, but one event type, one calendar, and 50 monthly bookings create a low ceiling. Standard removes the booking and event-type caps and adds more calendar connections, but the annual rate is per seat and its SMS allowance remains limited. Pro is the step up for teams needing unlimited calendar connections; Business raises the SMS quota and adds priority support. Enterprise is aimed at large organizations that need support and service terms beyond the standard plans.

Platforms

SchedulingKit supports web, iOS, Android, and an API. Its iPhone/iPad and Android apps sync bookings, contacts, and event types with the web app.

Who it's for

Solo professionals, therapists, trainers, salons, and law firms can use its booking, reminders, and payment workflows; teams gain shared availability and round-robin assignment. Organizations handling multiple businesses may value the unlimited paid-plan workspaces, while those needing custom integrations or SLA guarantees should look at Enterprise. It is not suitable for healthcare workflows requiring HIPAA compliance or a Business Associate Agreement.

Pros and cons

Pro: Booking, payment collection, reminders, and team assignment sit in one service, reducing the need to separate appointment logistics from payment workflows.
Pro: Two-way calendar sync and connections to common video, payment, CRM, and automation services give teams several ways to fit scheduling into existing operations.
Pro: API access and real-time webhooks provide an integration path for custom systems, while paid plans support multiple businesses from one login.
Con: Free caps the account at one member, one event type, 50 bookings monthly, and one calendar, so even modest growth can require an upgrade.
Con: Paid charges apply to each active team member across workspaces, which can make a multi-person or multi-business setup more expensive as it grows.
Con: The platform is not HIPAA-compliant and offers no Business Associate Agreement, excluding an important class of healthcare use.

Alternatives

For tutoring-focused comparisons, see Tutoring Scheduling Software; for veterinary practices, Veterinary Appointment Scheduling Software is the more targeted category. Hiring teams can compare options in Interview Scheduling Software, while broader appointment needs fit Appointment Scheduling Software.

Tutorbase is worth considering for tutoring users who prefer a free plan with no monthly subscription, though invoicing through its system carries a 1% fee. Tutoressa is another freemium option with web and mobile apps. Pynath Booking offers a free plan and web access.

Classcard is a paid option with a free trial and plans that include staff, student, and class capacity. GetSetTime has a free web plan with one seat and 50 bookings per month. LearnSuite uses pay-as-you-go pricing per completed lesson-hour, while Teach 'n Go is a paid alternative with monthly plans for live students. TutorBird offers a paid plan with unlimited students and file storage, plus a charge for each additional tutor or staff member.

Verdict

SchedulingKit is a strong fit for solo professionals and growing teams that want bookings, payments, calendar coordination, and automation in one platform. Its strongest case is workflow breadth, especially for businesses managing multiple staff or workspaces. Look elsewhere if your booking volume exceeds the free tier but per-seat costs are a concern, or if your work requires HIPAA compliance.
