Overview

Langua pairs 24/7 AI conversation with correction and review tools. Learners can choose roleplays, debates, vocabulary practice, or conversations tailored to their interests, then revisit feedback and saved words. That makes it more useful for ongoing speaking practice than a tool focused only on isolated prompts, though the free plan offers little time for regular conversation.

Key features

Conversation and review

Correction styles, personalized grammar drills, conversation feedback reports, audio summaries, and transcripts with click-to-translate words give learners several ways to work through what went wrong. Saved vocabulary can be reviewed with spaced-repetition flashcards or used to generate stories. This is a substantial loop from practice to review, but learners who mainly want a fixed, lesson-by-lesson course may prefer a different format.

Imported content

Level-matched podcasts and videos provide material for listening, while imported content can be paired with interactive transcripts synchronized to audio. That flexibility suits learners who already have material they want to study; it is less compelling for someone seeking a single prescribed curriculum.

Languages and privacy

Langua offers 23 languages, with multiple dialects available for many. Chat transcripts are stored in the account and users can delete them; voice recordings are not stored unless recording is enabled in Settings. Contracted providers may process conversation content to deliver, evaluate, or improve Langua, but are restricted from selling it, using it for advertising, or training shared models for other customers. Langua is intended for people aged 13 and older; users aged 13–17 need parental or guardian permission. The company says AI content is moderated but cannot guarantee that all content is appropriate.

Pricing

Langua is freemium. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows 3 minutes of Call Mode per day and approximately 20 standard chat messages per week. That is enough to try the format, but not much room for a daily speaking habit.

Standard has a monthly billing option, with up to 75 regular chat messages per day and up to 30 minutes of Call Mode per day. Unlimited is also offered with a monthly billing option and is marketed as unlimited conversation practice, but its fair-use allowance is 350 AI chat messages per day. Prices for both plans are custom pricing. A Pro trial requires a payment card and lasts 5 days on a monthly plan or 7 days on an annual plan.

Customized organization plans start at 500.00 USD per month and are tailored to schools, universities, and companies. These are aimed at organizations rather than individual learners.

Platforms

Langua works on web, iOS, and Android, and subscriptions and progress sync across devices. For web use, Langua recommends Google Chrome because it handles voice technology most reliably.

Who it's for

Choose Langua if your priority is frequent conversation practice supported by correction, vocabulary review, and the option to study your own audio or video material. The free tier is better treated as a limited trial than a sustained practice plan. Learners who need more daily speaking time should compare the paid options; those who want a structured sequence of fixed lessons may be better served elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple conversation formats let learners practice beyond scripted exchanges.
Pros: Feedback, flashcards, and saved-word stories connect speaking practice with review.
Pros: Imported content and synchronized transcripts support study around material the learner chooses.
Cons: The free plan caps Call Mode at 3 minutes daily and standard chat at approximately 20 messages weekly.
Cons: A payment card is required to start the short Pro trial.
Cons: The advertised Unlimited plan still applies a fair-use limit of 350 AI chat messages per day.

Alternatives

AI Language Learning Apps is a useful category to compare if Langua's conversation-first approach does not match your preferred learning style. The broader Language learning apps category is another starting point for comparing language study options.

Talkpal is worth considering for AI language practice across Android, iOS, and web; its free Basic Plan has a 10-minute daily limit. ELSA Speak is an alternative for learners considering a mobile app whose free plan includes the first two lessons of topics. LINAOI is an iOS option with five lessons per day on its free plan. TalkMe is another option across Android, iOS, macOS, and web.

AI Tutor offers a free monthly allowance of 30 minutes, one quiz, and one material upload, and is available on Android and iOS. Lucida AI is a freemium Android and iOS alternative. Aristotle is a web-based paid service with a free intro of three one-hour voice tutoring sessions across subjects. KORA Tutor is a web option with a free-to-start plan.

Verdict

Langua is a strong fit for language learners who want flexible AI conversation backed by practical review tools and the freedom to bring in their own content. The main reason to choose it is that practice, correction, and vocabulary review work together; the main reason to look elsewhere is the tight free cap and the card-required trial, especially if you want to assess a paid plan without committing payment details.
