Overview

Route4Me brings route planning together with dispatch, live tracking, and proof-of-delivery or service workflows. Its driver app supports voice-guided, turn-by-turn navigation, and customers can receive notifications as work progresses. Recurring routes, time-window planning, and automatic reoptimization give teams tools for both scheduled work and changing daily routes.

The platform says it has worked in last-mile operations for more than 10 years, with over 40,000 global customers, more than 3 billion miles optimized, and over 30 million routes planned. Those figures indicate a product built for substantial routing workloads, though they do not replace checking whether its business plan fits a particular operation.

Route4Me fits the Route Planning Software, Delivery Management Software, and Route Optimization Software categories.

Key features

Route planning and navigation

Drivers get in-app voice-guided navigation, while planners can use recurring routes, time windows, and automatic reoptimization. That combination suits teams managing repeat schedules as well as route changes; the free plan’s 10-stop ceiling, however, makes it a limited option for larger daily runs.

Dispatch and tracking

Dispatchers can share routes, manage teams, and follow drivers through real-time GPS tracking and alerts. Live technician tracking extends the workflow beyond delivery, and proof-of-delivery or service capture helps record completed work. Customer notifications can keep recipients informed without requiring dispatchers to relay every update themselves.

Business controls and integrations

Business Optimization adds rules and priorities, optimization across drivers, vehicles, and facilities, and mixed-fleet support. Enterprise Optimization adds custom deployment for large fleets, strategic and network planning, custom algorithms, and optimization APIs. Integrations span APIs and SDKs, telematics, ecommerce, ERP, CRM, and SFTP sync, giving larger operations routes into existing systems. HIPAA compliance is offered as a business optimization feature.

Pricing

Route4Me has a free mobile plan and paid mobile options, alongside contact-based pricing for its business optimization tiers. The 7-day trial is a short window to assess the service; check which paid offering it applies to before committing.

Free: 0.00 USD per free, billed monthly. It allows up to 10 stops and saves routes for 7 days. This is suitable for trying basic mobile routing, but the stop cap and temporary route history are restrictive for ongoing work.
Monthly: 9.99 USD per month, billed monthly, with unlimited stops. It removes the free plan’s stop ceiling, making it the more flexible choice for users who need regular routing without an annual commitment.
Annual: 79.99 USD per year, billed annually, with unlimited stops. It lowers the cost compared with paying the monthly rate for a full year, but requires an annual commitment.
Route Optimization: custom pricing. Includes route planning and optimization, dispatch and progress tracking, customer notifications, voice-guided navigation, and proof of delivery or service. It is the entry business tier for teams needing coordinated delivery workflows.
Business Optimization: custom pricing. Adds business rules and priorities, optimization across drivers, vehicles, and facilities, and mixed-fleet support. It is aimed at operations with more complex constraints or fleets.
Enterprise Optimization: custom pricing. Adds custom deployment, strategic planning and network optimization, custom algorithms, and optimization APIs to the Business tier. Its scope is for large fleets with specialized planning needs.

The paid mobile plans specify unlimited stops, while the business tiers are priced by contact. Support is available through live chat, a support portal, and contact options. No refund policy is stated.

Platforms

Driver apps are available for iOS, Android, and Zebra devices. Route4Me also supports a technician mobile app and API access, alongside integrations with business and fleet systems. Support channels include live chat, a support portal, and contact options.

Who it's for

Route4Me is a strong fit for delivery and field-service teams that need route sharing, dispatch oversight, real-time location updates, and proof of completed work in one workflow. Its higher tiers make more sense for businesses coordinating multiple drivers, vehicles, or facilities. A solo driver or small operation can start with the free plan, but should expect to outgrow its 10-stop limit quickly if routes are larger.

It is less suited to buyers who need predictable pricing for advanced business optimization before contacting a vendor, or who require route history beyond the free plan’s seven-day saving period without moving to a paid option.

Pros and cons

Pro: Real-time GPS tracking, alerts, route dispatch, and proof-of-delivery workflows connect planning with execution and completion records.
Pro: Voice-guided navigation, recurring routes, time windows, and automatic reoptimization support varied daily and repeat schedules.
Pro: Business tiers address multi-driver, mixed-fleet, and enterprise planning needs, with broad integration options.
Con: The free plan is capped at 10 stops and saves routes for only 7 days, limiting its usefulness for sustained or larger workloads.
Con: Business Optimization and Enterprise Optimization have custom pricing, so teams cannot compare their costs without contacting Route4Me.
Con: The annual mobile option requires paying 79.99 USD upfront for the year rather than monthly.

Alternatives

Choose Shipday if a free order-management entry point and a longer trial matter: its Basic plan is free forever for up to 300 orders per month, and the full platform can be tried free for 14 days without a credit card.

Routific is another freemium option, with a free plan for up to 100 orders a month and all features except SMS notifications.

MileApp is a freemium alternative with a free plan.

Onro is another option with a free demo plan.

Fleetbase offers a cloud plan at 29.00 USD per month with unlimited orders and users, which may suit teams comparing a stated monthly price with Route4Me’s contact-based business tiers.

Locus Last-Mile Delivery Software is a paid alternative for buyers considering other last-mile delivery software.

Cartwheel has a 99.00 USD per month plan covering 400 deliveries, with each delivery after that charged at $0.25.

OptimoRoute is a paid alternative with no free plan; its Lite tier is 35.10 USD per month, billed annually per driver, for up to 700 orders at once, with live tracking and a web service API.

Verdict

Choose Route4Me if your delivery or field-service operation needs dispatch, live tracking, navigation, and proof-of-work workflows backed by options for more complex fleets. Its free plan is useful for small-scale evaluation, and unlimited-stop mobile plans provide a clear step up. Look elsewhere if your main requirement is transparent pricing for advanced business optimization or a free plan that can handle more than 10 stops.
