Overview

GradeAid combines editable lesson plans with tools for making presentations, printable worksheets, auto-graded quizzes and real-life project activities. Plans include learning objectives, timed activities and curriculum links, giving teachers a structured starting point they can edit rather than a fixed lesson. The range of formats makes it more useful to teachers assembling a lesson package than to someone looking only for a plan draft.

Teachers can assign materials as homework for pupils to view and complete in a separate pupil application. Pupils do not get a chatbot, AI tutor or content-generation tool; teachers create and assign the work. That division is a sensible fit for classrooms where AI supports teacher preparation but students should not generate content directly.

GradeAid lists curriculum standards for Denmark, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Romania and Spain. Teachers can also theme resources around students' interests, including on the free plan. GradeAid says it removes personal identifiers before sending educational content to AI providers and does not use uploaded materials or pupil work to train AI models. Its privacy policy identifies Google Cloud hosting in Belgium, encryption in transit and at rest, hashed passwords, role-based access controls and regular security assessments.

Key features

Planning and resource creation

The planner's objectives, timings and curriculum links give teachers a workable structure to adapt. Presentations, worksheets, quizzes and projects cover different classroom needs, while auto-graded quizzes can reduce some assessment work. Teachers who primarily need a single document format may find this broader toolkit unnecessary.

Assignment and student access

Homework assignment and a separate pupil application extend the workflow beyond drafting. However, this is teacher-directed rather than a student AI study tool: pupils can view and complete assigned work but have no direct AI tutor or generation feature.

Providers and support

The privacy policy names Google Gemini for generation and uploaded-material processing, Google Sign-In, Stripe for subscription payments and YouTube embeds when teachers add videos. Max includes priority customer support, and GradeAid invites users to a Discord community for updates and discussion.

Pricing

GradeAid is freemium, with individual paid plans billed monthly. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows five resources a week, with PDF and Word export and no card details required. Interest-based theming is included, but the small weekly cap makes it better for occasional preparation than sustained classroom production.

Pro costs 8.99 USD per month and raises capacity to 200 resources a month. It also allows lesson series of up to 12 lessons and lessons up to 25 slides. This is the practical step up for an individual teacher who regularly creates materials but does not need unlimited output.

Max costs 14.99 USD per month and offers unlimited resources, lesson series up to 25 lessons and lessons up to 35 slides. Its higher ceilings suit teachers building longer sequences or producing resources at volume; priority customer support is an additional benefit. The stated prices are monthly, and no trial length or renewal terms are provided here.

Schools & Municipalities uses custom pricing, billed per school. It includes student accounts, the Aidly AI tutor, class management, progress insights and GDPR data agreements. Schools can book a free trial and request a tailored quote. This plan is aimed at subject leads, school leaders, and new or cover teachers; its school-level pricing and features make it a different proposition from the individual plans.

Platforms

GradeAid is available on the web. Teachers using it should note that pupils access assigned work through a separate pupil application.

Who it's for

GradeAid is a strong fit for teachers who want standards-linked plans, varied classroom materials and homework assignment in one workflow, especially when the curriculum coverage matches their country. It is less suitable for pupils seeking an AI tutor, teachers who need more than five weekly resources without paying, or users whose curriculum is outside the six countries listed.

Pros and cons

Pros: Editable plans combine objectives, timed activities and curriculum links, making drafts structured rather than bare outlines.
Pros: Presentations, printable worksheets, auto-graded quizzes and project activities support a range of teaching tasks.
Pros: Interest-based theming is included in the free plan, and homework assignment connects preparation with pupil work.
Pros: GradeAid describes identifier removal before AI processing and says it does not train models on uploaded materials or pupil work.
Cons: Five free resources a week is a tight allowance for teachers preparing materials regularly.
Cons: Pro limits lesson series to 12 lessons and lessons to 25 slides; longer sequences and larger lessons require Max.
Cons: Pupils cannot use an AI tutor or generate content through the individual workflow.
Cons: Curriculum coverage is listed for six countries, which may rule it out for teachers elsewhere.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see AI Lesson Plan Generators.

Make My Lesson is worth considering if mobile access matters: it supports Android, iOS and web, with a free allowance of five generations and a monthly plan at 9.99 USD per month.
TeachTools may suit teachers looking for a lower-cost web option; its free plan provides three generations a month, five core tools, print-ready PDFs and Google Docs export, while Starter is 2.00 USD per month.
Eduaide offers a different web-based mix of lesson plans, worksheets, organizers, games and assessments on its limited free plan; consider it if those resource types matter more than GradeAid's homework workflow.
TeacherMatic is another web-based freemium option with a free trial; it may be preferable if its 15 daily generations for the first week, then five a day, suit your usage pattern.
Common Planner is an alternative for teachers who want daily, weekly and monthly lesson planning and posting to Google Classroom on its free plan.
Education Copilot is a web option to consider for lesson plans and handouts through three free AI templates, with document editing and export included.
Brisk Teaching is another freemium web alternative.
Almanack is another freemium alternative, available on the web and via API.

Verdict

Choose GradeAid if you are a teacher who wants curriculum-linked lesson drafts, several classroom resource formats and a way to assign the finished work. Its strongest reason to buy is the breadth of that teacher-led workflow, while its clearest drawback is the free plan's five-resource weekly ceiling; look elsewhere if you need student-facing AI tutoring, a mobile app for teachers or standards outside its listed countries.
