Overview

GoSprout brings apprenticeship and internship administration into a shared platform, spanning applicant processes, training progress, and reporting. Educational institutions can access its platform free, while employers pay for each enrolled apprentice. That split makes it a natural fit for school-led programs, but partnerships should clarify which organization carries the employer charge.

Its scope extends from K–12 and career and technical education programs to colleges, workforce organizations, skilled trades, and enterprise employers. The platform also includes placement workflows, evaluation forms, and approval workflows, giving programs tools for managing placement decisions as well as training.

Key features

Apprenticeship tools cover program standards, automated alerts, applications, on-the-job training records, and progress in related technical instruction. Reporting and compliance automation is designed to help programs prepare for Department of Labor site visits and maintain grant eligibility. That makes GoSprout relevant to sponsors with structured oversight needs; the employer price, however, rises with every enrolled apprentice.

For internships, the platform handles application vetting, coordination among stakeholders, goal setting, time tracking, integrated courses, mentor access, and reporting. The combination suits programs that need to connect placement administration with ongoing student development rather than only track applications.

Integration examples include Moodle, Canvas, and Blackboard for learning management, ADP and Paychex for payroll, and Salesforce and HubSpot for customer relationship management. Enterprise accounts can access the API. Single sign-on supports SAML 2.0 and OAuth2 with Microsoft Azure AD, Google Workspace, and Okta—useful for organizations already managing identity through those services.

Apprentices can use a free iOS or Android app; interns also have a mobile app. Sponsors, employers, related technical instruction providers, and journeyworkers use the browser platform. GoSprout says it provides free onboarding and training, with ongoing support through in-app chat and email at no additional cost, an advantage for programs that need help getting teams started.

GoSprout says it does not resell data and uses encryption, restricted access, regular backups, and annual risk assessments, as well as independent third-party penetration tests. Its technical guide states that it is SOC 2 Type II audited and uses AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit. The company says it follows COPPA, FERPA, and CIPA practices; users aged 13 and younger cannot create accounts. Data is retained for five years and can be provided or deleted at a customer's request. Organizations should confirm current safeguards directly with GoSprout.

Pricing

Educational institutions receive free access to the pre-apprenticeship, internship, and registered apprenticeship platform, and the apprentice profile is described as 100% free. Employers pay 40.00 USD per month, billed per enrolled apprentice per month, with no upper limit on enrolled apprentices and no charge for administrative users. Implementation fees may be quoted if required.

The Employer plan is also 40.00 USD per month, billed per enrolled apprentice, with no upper limit on apprentices, free administrative users, and possible quoted implementation fees. The same per-apprentice structure means the advertised monthly amount is not a flat employer subscription: larger cohorts produce a larger recurring bill. Schools get the strongest price proposition; employers should budget around enrollment and any implementation work.

Platforms

GoSprout supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, and provides API access for enterprise accounts. The free apprentice app is available on iOS and Android, while program-side users work in a browser.

Who it's for

GoSprout is a strong candidate for educational institutions, K–12 and career and technical education programs, colleges, skilled-trades and workforce organizations, and enterprise employers that need apprenticeship or internship workflows in one system. Its free institutional access is especially attractive to schools. Employers should compare the per-apprentice charge against their cohort size; organizations seeking a flat-price employer plan may prefer another option.

Pros and cons

Broad program coverage: Apprenticeship and internship workflows sit alongside placement, evaluation, and approval tools, making it relevant to organizations managing more than one kind of work-based learning.
Free institutional access: Educational institutions can use the platform without a subscription charge, while apprentice profiles and the apprentice mobile app are free.
Support included: Free onboarding, training, and ongoing chat and email support reduce the need to budget separately for initial assistance.
Employer costs scale with enrollment: The $40.00 USD monthly charge applies per enrolled apprentice, so a growing cohort increases the recurring cost even though administrative users are free.
Implementation may add cost: Employers may face separately quoted implementation fees.

Alternatives

For a dedicated internship-management comparison, see Internship Management Software. Riipen is worth considering when a free platform for students and employers is the priority. Flarebox offers a free forever plan with limited monthly AI interview and practice-test sessions, so it is a different option for users focused on interview preparation. Hiree365 may suit institutions evaluating a per-student annual contract or a monthly Standard plan. TPO Bridge is a free option for job posts and campus drives without subscription or per-post charges. BeChallenge has a free teacher account for designing a learning experience, with an institutional subscription also offered. ImBlaze is another paid option for placement management. GradLeaders is another paid option. InPlace is another paid option.

Verdict

GoSprout is best for educational institutions and employers that need coordinated apprenticeship and internship administration, especially when schools can use the platform free. Its strongest reason to choose it is the combination of program workflows, reporting, and included support; its clearest drawback for employers is the $40.00 USD monthly charge per enrolled apprentice, plus possible implementation fees. Choose it when those workflows justify cohort-based pricing, and look elsewhere if a predictable flat employer subscription matters more.
