Overview

The builder brings portfolio pages, selected client-gallery images, booking availability, and contact options into one website. Gallery blocks reuse photos from existing galleries, so photographers do not need to upload another copy. Public and link-only galleries can appear on the site; password-protected galleries cannot, which rules out using the website to display that more restricted work.

Editing happens in a private draft, and publishing makes the changes public. Checkpoints, revision previews, and restoring an earlier version as a draft make it possible to revisit changes before republishing. The six available looks and controls for text, blocks, fonts, colors, logos, and slider headers offer useful presentation choices, though the lack of custom page templates limits how far the structure can be tailored.

Key features

Photographers can add a booking page where visitors select a session type and view availability, with Google Calendar powering that availability. Contact-form inquiries go to the account email. The Instagram feed can show recent posts and optionally filter by caption hashtag, provided the account is a professional Instagram account linked to a Facebook Page.

Pages are described as mobile-friendly and SEO-optimized, with editable titles and descriptions on each page. Plus and Pro include hosting and secure connections for a custom website domain and a separate custom gallery domain. The Instagram access token is encrypted and kept out of page-builder content and visitor-facing pages.

The broader ShootCal gallery offering includes client galleries, print sales, proofing tools, and digital downloads. These support the portfolio workflow, but do not amount to a general online shop: the builder has no general shop feature, and it also lacks a blog.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 10 GB of storage and two pages: Home and Contact. That is enough for a basic introduction and inquiry route, but not the six-page site included in paid plans. There is no free trial.

Plus costs 12.00 USD per month, billed monthly, with no annual contract. It includes 150 GB of storage, 30 active video minutes, and six website pages: five starter pages and one extra page. It also supports custom website and gallery domains. Plus is the practical step up for photographers who want a fuller portfolio without a long-term commitment.

Pro costs 25.00 USD per month, billed monthly, with no annual contract. It raises storage to 1,000 GB and active video minutes to 180; the six-page allowance remains. That makes Pro a better fit for photographers with heavier storage or video needs, rather than those who simply want more pages. Both paid plans are capped at six pages.

Platforms

ShootCal Websites is available on Android, iOS, and the web. The website itself is described as mobile-friendly, which helps visitors browse a portfolio on phones.

Who it's for

This is a focused choice for photographers who already use ShootCal galleries and want to connect selected work with service information, booking availability, and a contact form. It is less suitable for anyone who needs a blog, a general online store, password-protected gallery embeds, or bespoke page layouts.

Pros and cons

Pros: Gallery blocks reuse photos from existing ShootCal galleries, avoiding duplicate uploads.
Pros: Booking availability, contact inquiries, and an optional Instagram feed cover useful routes from portfolio browsing to getting in touch.
Pros: Paid plans include separate custom website and gallery domains, hosting, and secure connections.
Cons: The free site has only Home and Contact, while both paid plans stop at six pages.
Cons: Password-protected galleries cannot be embedded, limiting how photographers present restricted work.
Cons: No blog, general shop, or custom page templates means the builder is not a flexible all-purpose site platform.

Alternatives

For more options in this category, browse Photography Website Builders or Portfolio Website Builders.

Pixieset Website may fit photographers who want a stated free-plan allowance of 15 pages, 100 photos, and five blog posts. RebookMedia is another freemium option, with a free member plan that includes a public directory listing and lead inquiries but no media storage, plus a free trial.

Zarla offers a free plan with 10 pages per site and unlimited lead-capture forms, alongside AI credits and preview-only publishing; consider it if those lead and AI features take priority. Avago is a web-only alternative whose Build plan includes AI website generation, device previews, and free stock images.

LentloSites is a freemium option with a ₹0 forever plan that includes restaurant features and custom domain connection, making it a different fit for restaurant websites. Plot is a web-based alternative focused on medical websites, with a Starter plan at 19.99 USD per month and monthly AI-generation allowances.

Verdict

Choose ShootCal Websites if your photography portfolio should sit alongside existing ShootCal galleries, booking availability, and contact options. The gallery reuse is a practical advantage, and monthly paid plans avoid an annual commitment. Look elsewhere if your site needs more than six pages, protected-gallery embeds, a blog, a general shop, or custom templates.
