Overview

GameGlass turns a phone or tablet into a touch-control surface for PC games, connecting it to a computer through GameGlass Hub. It suits players who want custom controls alongside a keyboard, mouse, or gamepad; the trade-off is that its most flexible creation and content options sit behind a paid plan.

GameGlass says it supports more than 150,000 games. Its origins in the Star Citizen community help explain the emphasis on configurable layouts and community-made controls, though its stated compatibility reaches well beyond that starting point.

Key features

Mobile controls and Hub

Hub links a phone or tablet to a gaming PC and opens access to Forge, sharing, and community creations. It runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac, while mobile apps are available through major app stores, including Amazon. Web access is also available. GameGlass describes interactions as low-latency over the user's local network, a useful design for controls that need to respond promptly without relying on a remote connection.

The interface toolkit includes hundreds of components such as buttons, switches, dials, and toggles. That variety makes the service more than a fixed collection of touch buttons: players can shape a control surface around their preferred inputs.

Forge and community content

Forge is a visual, no-code editor for building experiences from scratch or adapting community creations. The combination of a visual editor and shared content lowers the barrier to making a layout, but the free plan does not include shard creation or Forge Editor access. Players who only want to use a small number of existing Shards may not need Pro; those who want to make and customize their own will.

The company also reports performance statistics and hardware monitoring. These broaden its role beyond touch controls, although the central reason to choose GameGlass remains its customizable mobile interface.

Pricing

The Basic Plan is free and includes two Shards with no ads. That is enough to try the control-surface approach or keep a small set of layouts, but the cap matters to anyone who wants a broader library. Creation tools and additional content are not part of this plan.

GameGlass Pro costs 49.90 USD per year, billed yearly, and the page shows “2 MONTHS FREE.” It adds unlimited Shards, no ads, shard creation, Forge Editor, Community Shards, Premium Shards, and Premium Components. This is the practical choice for regular users who want to build or explore beyond two Shards; occasional users can stay on Basic if its limit fits.

The Lifetime Pass costs 229.00 USD once and includes unlimited Shards, no ads, and all platform features. It avoids an annual renewal, but partner content or features may require extra payment. It is best suited to committed users who prefer a one-time charge; Pro costs less up front for anyone still deciding whether they will keep using the service.

A 14-day trial is available. The stated prices and terms distinguish the free tier, annual subscription, and lifetime purchase; no additional seat or usage quota is described.

Platforms

GameGlass is cross-platform: its stated platforms include Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. Hub is available on Windows, Linux, and Mac, with mobile apps and browser access complementing the desktop connection.

Who it's for

GameGlass is for PC players who want a touch interface they can tailor, particularly those who will use the editor or benefit from community Shards. It is less compelling for someone content with conventional controls, or for a player unwilling to accept the free plan's two-Shard ceiling but not ready to pay for Pro.

Pros and cons

Pros: Broad stated compatibility of more than 150,000 games gives the control approach wide potential reach.
Pros: Hundreds of components and a visual no-code editor support personalized layouts rather than one fixed control scheme.
Pros: The free plan has no ads, and the Lifetime Pass offers a one-time alternative to annual billing.
Cons: Basic is capped at two Shards and omits creation tools, limiting free use for players who want a larger or self-made control library.
Cons: Forge, shard creation, and premium content require Pro, while partner content or features can still cost extra with the Lifetime Pass.

Alternatives

For a broader category comparison, browse Game Overlay Software.

OP.GG is another freemium option with a free membership and a paid ad-free plan; choose it when that membership model better fits your needs than custom mobile game controls.
Valorant Tracker offers a free Windows PC overlay and a premium annual plan. Choose it if you want a PC overlay rather than a phone-based touch-control surface.
PLITCH has a free tier with access to 712 trainers and a paid plan. Choose it when trainer and mod access is the priority instead of building touch controls.
WeMod offers free keyboard hotkeys and limits newly created free accounts to two hours of mod usage per day. Choose it for that mod-focused workflow rather than a customizable mobile control panel.
NVIDIA ShadowPlay is a free Windows option requiring a supported GPU and a specified driver version. Choose it if those requirements fit and you want that alternative rather than GameGlass controls.
Overwolf is free to use on web and Windows, though some apps may require a subscription. Choose it if that platform and app approach suits you better.
ReShade is a free, open-source post-processing injector for Linux and Windows. Choose it for post-processing rather than touch controls.
Intel PresentMon is a free Windows tool supporting DirectX 12, DirectX 11, DirectX 9, OpenGL, and Vulkan. Choose it when that supported-API scope is the priority.

Verdict

Choose GameGlass if you want a customizable phone-or-tablet control surface for PC games and expect to use its editor or community content. Its breadth of components and cross-platform Hub make it a distinctive fit for that purpose; look elsewhere if you want a ready-made conventional overlay or the two-Shard free limit is too restrictive.
