Overview

FloQast centralizes close tasks, tracks progress and surfaces dependencies and bottlenecks across teams and entities. That gives accounting teams a shared view of work that might otherwise be difficult to coordinate across a multi-entity close. Audit trails, task dependencies, recurring templates and approval workflows support repeatable processes, though the platform's value depends on an organization needing that level of coordination.

Automation covers reconciliations, transaction matching and journal entry workflows, with review and approval steps. FloQast says its AI learns from user inputs, while accounting teams review AI-generated transaction matching rules. That oversight is relevant for teams that want automation without surrendering review of proposed matching logic.

Key features

Close coordination: Central task tracking and visibility into dependencies help teams identify where work is stalled across entities and functions.
Workflow automation: Automating reconciliations, transaction matching and journal entries can reduce manual process work; review and approval steps keep those workflows subject to accounting checks.
Integrations: FloQast lists connections across ERP, banking, accounts payable, collaboration, communication, documentation, identity management and payroll. Examples include ADP, Box, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams and Slack. Native ERP connectivity is a plus for organizations building close processes around their ERP.
Security and AI governance: FloQast says it provides a SOC 3 report, conducts annual penetration tests on high-risk products and infrastructure, and holds ISO/IEC 42001 certification for its accounting transformation platform.

Pricing

FloQast is paid software with no free plan. The FloQast customized package has custom pricing based on organizational needs, and buyers must request a quote. That organization-specific approach may suit companies whose close workflows need a tailored package, but it offers no public price for comparing costs before a sales conversation. No cheaper tier or free-plan allowance is available to evaluate.

Customers can submit platform support requests through FloQast's support portal; account managers or customer success managers handle billing questions. Buyers should account for the quote-based purchase process when assessing budget and ongoing support arrangements.

Platforms

FloQast is cloud-based SaaS accessed through a browser, with support for macOS, Windows and the web. Its browser-based deployment fits teams working across supported desktop operating systems.

Who it's for

FloQast is aimed at accountants and presents use cases for accounting, finance, controller, audit and compliance roles. It is a stronger fit for organizations managing recurring close work across teams or entities than for buyers seeking a free, individually priced tool. Multi-entity close, dependencies, recurring templates and approval workflows are most relevant when those processes need coordination and accountability.

Pros and cons

Pros

Close work is coordinated across teams and entities: Task tracking, dependency visibility and multi-entity close support make progress and bottlenecks easier to manage.
Automation retains review steps: Reconciliation, matching and journal-entry workflows include review and approval, and accounting teams review AI-generated matching rules.
Broad integration categories: ERP connectivity plus connections spanning finance and collaboration tools can support a connected close workflow.

Cons

No free plan or public price: Organizations must request custom pricing, so buyers cannot establish cost from a published rate or start with a free tier.
Designed for organizational accounting workflows: Its emphasis on close coordination, compliance and approvals is less compelling for someone seeking a lightweight personal finance app.

Alternatives

For another paid financial-close platform with enterprise-tailored custom pricing and a web platform, consider Aico Financial Close Platform. Stacks Financial Close, Trintech Cadency and Maxima are also paid, web-based alternatives.

novacly is the alternative to consider if a freemium web product and a free plan matter. Numeric is a paid web and API option with no free plan; its Close Management & Analytics plan requires an existing ERP. Double is a paid option with a free trial and Android, iOS and web support. Taxilla Financial Close Task Management is a paid web alternative with entity and close-task limits that vary by plan.

Verdict

FloQast is a sound choice for accounting organizations that need coordinated close management, multi-entity visibility and automation with review and approval built into the workflow. Its main reason to choose is the combination of close oversight and accounting process automation; its main reason to look elsewhere is the absence of a free plan or public pricing, especially if cost transparency or a lightweight starting point matters.
