Overview

Planner 5D is a design app for planning homes, landscapes, and offices in two and three dimensions. It suits homeowners and design-minded users who want to arrange a space before committing to a layout; its broad project support and continuing free tier make it approachable, though professional exports and richer rendering sit behind higher-priced plans.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, Planner 5D serves non-professionals as well as renovators, interior designers, architects, and studios. Its supported platforms are Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows.

Key features

Plans, furnishings, and visualization

Users can draw floor plans, furnish and decorate rooms, and switch between 2D and 3D views. That combination is useful for comparing arrangements across home, landscape, and office projects without treating the plan as a purely technical drawing. Real-time scenes, 360° tours, and VR/AR support broaden the ways a design can be viewed, although the plan details do not assign limits or availability for each of those capabilities.

AI tools and plan recognition

Planner 5D describes AI tools for generating ideas, exploring layouts, and testing styles. These are useful as design aids, but they do not replace the user's judgment about what works in a real space. Existing floor plans in JPG, PNG, PDF, DWG, or DXF can be uploaded for recognition, which can save redrawing an existing layout. PRO users can export 2D plans in DWG or DXF.

Cross-device use and business connections

Projects sync across supported devices when users sign in with the same account. That is helpful for moving between desktop planning and mobile viewing, but Android-only subscriptions do not support cross-platform synchronization. Business integration options include Open API, SSO, CRM, e-commerce, shopping carts, ERP, and DataStore connectivity. The B2B integration uses a JavaScript API and server-to-server REST API, with access provisioned after signing, so it is aimed at organizations rather than casual users.

Pricing

Planner 5D uses a freemium model. The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free with no time limit and includes unlimited projects, core 2D/3D design, and 50% of the furniture catalog. It is a substantial starting point for trying layouts or maintaining projects, but the partial catalog limits furnishing choices.

Premium: 59.99 USD per year, billed annually. It adds floor-plan upload and conversion to a 3D project, the full premium furniture catalog, standard renders, and a budget widget. It fits homeowners and renovators who want more catalog access and a way to bring in an existing plan.
Professional: 399.99 USD per year, billed annually. It includes unlimited 4K renders, custom 3D model uploads, 360° walkthroughs and panoramas, and CAD export. This is the more suitable tier for design professionals who need presentation output and file export; its higher cost is difficult to justify for occasional personal planning.
Enterprise: custom pricing around scope and scale. It includes a white-label room planner, 3D product configurator, APIs, and cart, CRM, and ERP connections, making it the business-focused option.

Paid plans are also advertised from 19.99 /mo. A free trial is offered. Subscriptions auto-renew, and cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid another charge. The listed Premium and Professional prices are annual, so check the applicable subscription terms before buying; an Android-only subscription will not sync across platforms.

Platforms

Planner 5D is available on Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, with mobile viewing supported. Cross-device project syncing requires the same account, subject to the Android-only subscription restriction. Organizations can also consider its API-based integrations where they need to connect a room-planning experience to business systems.

Who it's for

Planner 5D is a strong fit for homeowners, renovators, and design enthusiasts who want to sketch and furnish a space, inspect it in 3D, and keep projects going without a time-limited free plan. The paid tiers make more sense for interior designers, architects, and studios that need full catalog access, high-resolution renders, model uploads, or CAD export. Businesses seeking embedded planning tools and system connections should look at Enterprise. It is less compelling for an occasional user who needs only a basic layout but expects the entire catalog or professional exports at no cost.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free plan has no time limit and allows unlimited projects, making it practical for ongoing personal planning.
Pro: Plan recognition accepts common image, PDF, and CAD formats, reducing the need to recreate an existing floor plan from scratch.
Pro: 2D and 3D design, furnishings, and AI-assisted idea exploration cover both layout work and visual experimentation.
Con: The free plan provides only half of the furniture catalog, while full catalog access requires Premium.
Con: CAD export and unlimited 4K renders are reserved for Professional, a sizable annual commitment for users who only need occasional output.
Con: Android-only subscriptions lose cross-platform project synchronization, weakening the convenience of an otherwise broad platform lineup.

Alternatives

RoomSketcher is worth considering if its free offer of two credits, one AI floor-plan conversion, 2D and 3D plans, snapshots, and AI Render better matches a limited initial project. Sweet Home 3D is an alternative with free desktop and online versions, including Windows, macOS, and Linux desktop support. Coohom may suit users who prioritize its free Starter allowance of 3,000+ furniture catalog items and 10 renders per month, while accepting that the plan excludes 360° panoramas and photo-to-3D imports.

Live Home 3D is another freemium choice for users considering its free app and separate in-app subscriptions or lifetime licenses. Homestyler is a fit for users who want a free Basic plan with unlimited 1K rendering and a 100,000+ model and material library, with 4K renders purchased separately. Kuula is an alternative to consider for a 360°-focused workflow, with its free Basic plan capped at 300 posts and 100 uploads per month.

Matterport may be preferable when its free tier of one active Space and two users fits the intended scope. HomeByMe is another option, with a free Starter plan that includes two projects, five Full HD images, unlimited 2D/3D screenshots, and a 90k+ product catalog.

Verdict

Choose Planner 5D if you want one flexible tool for drawing, furnishing, and reviewing ongoing home, landscape, or office projects across desktop and mobile. Its no-time-limit free plan is a credible place to start, and its higher tiers add useful professional output and business integrations. Look elsewhere if you need full catalog access or CAD export without a steep paid upgrade, or if you rely on cross-device syncing through an Android-only subscription.
