Overview

Findmykids is a family safety app that pairs a parent’s device with a child’s phone or GPS watch. It brings together frequent location updates, safety alerts and app-use reports, making it a strong fit for parents who want more than a map pin. Its appeal is less clear for families who need Sound Around to work with an iPhone or in Germany or Austria, where the feature is unavailable.

Key features

Location updates arrive every few seconds, with routes, unlimited location history and alerts when a child visits a place. That level of continuity suits parents who want to check both current whereabouts and past journeys; the free plan’s location offering is more limited than the paid real-time tracking.

Place notifications and SOS alerts cover two different needs: routine check-ins around familiar locations and a way for a child to signal for help. A parent can receive SOS even with their phone on silent, while Loud Signal can alert a child through their phone even when its silent mode is on. These are useful safeguards, though they depend on the child having a connected device.

Sound Around lets a parent hear a child’s surroundings, and the child’s device displays a notification when listening begins. It is not available when the child uses an iPhone or when either parent or child is in Germany or Austria, so families relying on that function should check those restrictions before choosing the app.

App-use reports show which apps a child used and how long they spent in them, with overtime notifications. The Plus plan adds app blocking, protection against deletion and a call filter, making it the more relevant tier for parents who want active controls rather than visibility alone.

Findmykids says it does not store sound, audio, usage statistics, fitness data or activity-recognition data on its servers, and that only the connected parent can access that information in the app. Its policy also says it does not use or share personal information from accounts belonging to children under 13 for marketing or advertising. Support is available through 24/7 live chat and at info@findmykids.org.

Pricing

Findmykids uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a free trial. The listed paid entry price is €3.58/mo (annual).

Básico: 0.00 EUR per free. Includes current location, one movement notification and three super-signals. It is a no-cost starting point, but the single movement alert and lack of listed real-time movement and detailed routes make it a limited choice for ongoing monitoring.
Cuidar: 3.58 EUR per month, billed 42,99 €. Adds real-time movements, movement notifications, super-signals, detailed routes, chat assistance and family access for two more loved ones. It suits families prioritising location coverage and shared access without the app-use controls in Plus.
Plus: 6.25 EUR per month, billed 74,99 €. Adds app-use reporting, app blocking, protection against deletion, a call filter and a premium icon, plus Cuidar benefits and access for two more loved ones. Choose it when those controls matter; otherwise Cuidar covers the listed location and family-access features at the lower price.

The product has a three-member limit and unlimited location history. The free plan specifies one movement notification, while Cuidar includes family access for two additional loved ones. The paid plans are billed annually at the stated totals.

Platforms

Findmykids supports Android, iOS and web. Parents use the iPhone or Android app, while a child connects through the Pingo app or a GPS watch; the web version supports location tracking. The company also says its app can run autonomously on Apple Watch without a connected phone. Sound Around’s iPhone restriction applies to the child’s device, so iPhone households should not assume every feature works across both sides of the setup.

Who it's for

Findmykids is best suited to parents who want frequent location updates, route history and alerts alongside visibility into a child’s app use. GPS-watch support also makes it relevant for families monitoring younger children who do not carry a phone. It is a weaker fit if Sound Around is central and the child uses an iPhone, or if the family is in Germany or Austria.

Pros and cons

Pros: Updates every few seconds, unlimited location history and detailed routes on Cuidar give parents more context than a current-location view alone.
Pros: SOS alerts can reach a parent whose phone is silent, and Loud Signal can alert a child despite silent mode.
Pros: Plus combines app-use reporting with blocking, deletion protection and a call filter for families seeking active phone controls.
Cons: Sound Around is unavailable for children on iPhone and for families where either parent or child is in Germany or Austria.
Cons: The free plan provides only one movement notification and three super-signals, so families wanting real-time movement tracking and detailed routes need a paid tier.
Cons: The plan descriptions are in Spanish, and the billed totals use euro formatting; buyers should confirm the plan terms before subscribing.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, browse Family Locator Apps. Consider Family Locator if a complete free version or a one-time premium purchase is more appealing. iSharing is another freemium option, with a free tier that includes one place alert and a seven-day history and driving report after watching an ad.

BuddySOS may suit households looking for a low-cost paid plan to remove ads and add groups and zones. Family Beacon is a free option for live location sharing and SOS while in development. Bluelane is worth considering for iOS and web users comparing a free iOS app with an annual Pro subscription.

Life360 is an alternative for families who want a free tier with two days of location history, two place alerts, a driving summary and Tile tracking. FollowMee GPS Tracker and GeoFamily are also options to compare for their listed platform support.

Verdict

Choose Findmykids if you want child-focused location tracking with route history, SOS and app-use controls, particularly for a family using a GPS watch or Android child device. Its strongest case is the combination of location oversight and phone-use reporting; look elsewhere if Sound Around must work on a child’s iPhone or in Germany or Austria.
