Overview

Veena goes beyond generating a drum loop: CoProducer can build beats, bass, chords, melodies, arrangements and mixes as separate editable tracks. That makes it a better fit for shaping a song around a generated groove than for someone seeking only a finished beat.

The studio combines a timeline, piano roll, mixer and recording with 61 instrument presets, seven drum kits, a 16-pad sampler and 10 effects. Users own the music they generate on every plan. Veena says prompts and relevant content may be processed by third-party AI providers, and that it uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information.

Key features

Editable drum and track generation

Describe a groove and Veena generates a MIDI pattern on a 16-step grid, with hits available for individual editing. That provides a workable starting point without making the generated rhythm a fixed result. CoProducer extends the same idea to other song parts, so users can assemble and adjust a broader arrangement rather than export a drum pattern and move on.

Production and audio tools

Voice-to-instrument conversion, stem separation, audio-to-MIDI, sample search, and AI mixing and mastering support work beyond initial generation. The range is useful for a songwriter or producer developing material in one place, though it may be more than someone who wants a simple drum-pattern tool needs.

Exports include WAV, MP3, MIDI and stems, with no export cap or watermark on either plan. Veena also supports users' own VST3 and AU plug-ins through Veena Bridge. Real-time session collaboration is available by shared link, and collaborators can use CoProducer.

Pricing

Veena is freemium, with no free trial. The Free plan is free, requires no card and has no end date. It includes a daily CoProducer allowance, up to five projects, basic AI models, and uncapped exports without a watermark. This is a meaningful free tier for trying ideas or finishing a small number of projects; the daily allowance and project ceiling are the constraints for regular work.

Veena Pro costs 20.00 USD per month, billed monthly. It removes the daily request cap, lifts the project limit and provides premium AI models. Pro is credit-metered, so removing the daily cap does not mean unlimited credit use. Its monthly-only billing suits users who need the higher limits without a longer-term commitment. The Free plan gives up premium models and room for more than five projects; exports remain uncapped on both plans.

Platforms

Veena runs in a browser on computers and phones, including school Chromebooks. The product is categorized for web, Android and iOS, but its workflow is browser-based rather than a separate desktop studio.

Who it's for

Songwriters, singers, rappers, producers, bands and students can use Veena to turn descriptions into editable song parts, then refine them with studio and audio tools. It is especially suited to users who want MIDI editing, multiple track types and unrestricted exports on the free plan. Those looking only for a quick, finished beat may find the broader production workspace unnecessary.

Pros and cons

Pros: Drum patterns are editable hit by hit on a 16-step grid, so generated grooves can be reshaped rather than accepted as-is.
Pros: CoProducer creates several kinds of editable song tracks, while audio tools, effects and plug-in support broaden the production workflow.
Pros: WAV, MP3, MIDI and stem exports have no cap or watermark, including on Free.
Pros: Real-time collaboration and CoProducer access for collaborators support shared sessions.
Cons: Free limits users to five projects and a daily CoProducer allowance, which can interrupt ongoing or frequent generation.
Cons: Pro is credit-metered despite having no daily request cap, so the daily limit is not the only usage consideration.
Cons: The range of track and audio tools may be unnecessary for users who only need a standalone drum generator.

Alternatives

AI Beat Makers is a useful category page for comparing more options. Consider Rewind AI Beat Maker if a lower-priced paid tier or a stated daily token allowance matters more than Veena's editable studio workflow; it has a free tier with daily token allowances and a 10,000-token signup bonus, plus Basic at 5.00 USD per month.

InsMelo AI Beat Maker is another freemium Android, iOS and web option; its Free plan includes 3.9 credits. Soundverse AI Beat Maker may suit users prioritizing a token-based entry point: its Free Tier provides 1,000 signup tokens and supports song creation, voice cloning and stem splitting.

Songen is an iOS and macOS alternative with 100 generated loops per day and one free export; Premium costs 8.99 USD per month and allows unlimited generating and saved tunes, with up to 250 exports per month. CedarGrooveNET is a free option for macOS and web.

DrumBot AI may be a better match for someone focused on drum grooves and MIDI or WAV exports: its free Explorer plan allows 20 grooves per day, five MIDI and WAV exports per month, and five audio analyses per month, but does not save patterns to a library or include a commercial license. AIBeatMaker has a free web plan with daily tries, public tracks, 30-day cloud storage and streaming, but no downloads or commercial rights; choose it only if those limits fit the intended use.

Beat Shaper offers a free web Starter plan with unlimited generations and MP3 downloads for personal, non-commercial use, with a maximum song length of 32 MIDI clips. It is worth considering when those free-generation terms matter more than Veena's broader track and audio workflow.

Verdict

Veena is a strong choice for creators who want editable AI-generated drums and other song parts, plus production and audio tools in the same browser workspace. Uncapped, watermark-free exports make Free genuinely useful, but the five-project ceiling and daily CoProducer allowance narrow its room for ongoing work. Choose Pro if those limits get in the way; look elsewhere if you want only a simple drum generator or need a paid plan that is not credit-metered.
