Overview

Kits AI combines tools for making and shaping voices with music-production features such as vocal enhancement, stem splitting, mastering, harmonies, pitch editing and key and BPM detection. That combination makes it more than a voice-cover tool: it can fit into a broader vocal workflow, while its browser, Windows desktop app and API offer different ways to use it.

One important trade-off is how submitted and generated audio is handled. Kits says it may use both to improve its services, including related AI and machine-learning models. That matters for anyone working with audio they do not want used for service improvement.

Key features

Voice and vocal tools

Voice cloning and changing sit alongside vocal enhancement and removal, stem splitting, AI mastering, harmonies and pitch editing. The range is useful for producers who want conversion and cleanup in one toolkit, rather than a single-purpose voice changer. Kits also offers key and BPM detection, which helps round out the set for music work.

The tools page describes a library of more than 100 royalty-free artists for AI voice changing. Kits says the voices in its models are licensed and sourced from artists, who benefit through revenue sharing. Those commitments may matter to creators choosing voice models for projects; commercial use is supported.

Desktop and API workflows

The Windows desktop app supports dragging audio into a DAW or other music-production software and auditioning multiple vocal models at once. That is a practical advantage for comparing voices within a production workflow. Browser access is also available, so the desktop app is not the only way to use Kits AI.

The API provides voice conversion, voice blending and vocal removal for application integrations. It is not a text-to-speech API: Kits deprecated that functionality from the API as of September 22, 2025. Developers seeking text-to-speech should look elsewhere.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, billed per month. It includes 15 conversion minutes, voice designer/blender and Kits generative vocals, but provides 0 voice slots and 0 download minutes. It is suitable for trying the included tools, not for maintaining custom voice slots or downloading converted audio.

Starter costs 10.00 USD per month, billed monthly. It adds unlimited conversions, 2 voice slots, 15 download minutes, professional voice cloning, advanced settings and the choir tool. This is the entry point for users who need custom voice cloning, but the modest download allowance may constrain regular exporting.

Producer costs 30.00 USD per month, billed monthly. It includes unlimited conversions and voice slots, 60 download minutes, and everything in Starter. It suits heavier users who need more room for voice models and downloads, though the download quota still applies.

Professional costs 60.00 USD per month, billed monthly. It includes everything in Producer and unlimited download minutes, subject to fair use. That makes it the clearest fit for ongoing output where download limits would otherwise get in the way. All three paid plans offer unlimited conversions; the meaningful tier differences are voice slots and download limits.

After cancellation, additional features remain available until the billing period ends, but custom AI voice clones are locked and custom voices are frozen until subscription renewal. Factor that into any workflow built around saved custom voices.

Platforms

Kits AI is available on the web and Windows, with API access for integrations. The desktop app is specifically offered for Windows; the API’s documented endpoints cover voice conversion, blending and vocal removal.

Who it's for

Kits AI is a strong candidate for vocal producers who want voice conversion, cloning and audio-processing tools together, especially if they work in a DAW or need to audition several models. Developers can consider it for the supported API endpoints, provided they do not need text-to-speech through that API. It is a weaker fit for users who require generous downloads on a free plan, or who are uncomfortable with submitted and generated audio potentially being used for service improvement.

Pros and cons

Pro: Voice tools and music-processing features share one product, covering conversion, cloning, vocal removal, mastering and more.
Pro: The Windows app supports DAW drag-and-drop and simultaneous model auditioning, useful for comparing voices in production.
Pro: Paid plans keep conversions unlimited, while higher tiers expand voice slots and download capacity.
Con: The free plan has no voice slots and no download minutes, limiting its usefulness for custom-voice export workflows.
Con: API text-to-speech was deprecated; the API is focused on conversion, blending and removal.
Con: Audio submitted to or generated by the service may be used to improve its services, which may not suit sensitive projects.

Verdict

Choose Kits AI if you want voice conversion and cloning alongside a substantial set of vocal and music-processing tools, especially in a Windows DAW workflow. The main reasons to look elsewhere are the free plan’s lack of voice slots and downloads, the API’s lack of text-to-speech, or the possibility that submitted and generated audio may help improve the service.
