Overview

This is a portable skill rather than a standalone mapping workspace: users supply documents, process descriptions or numbers, then work through a supported agent to create maps. It covers customer journeys, service blueprints, process maps, AS IS / TO BE comparisons and sales funnels. That breadth makes it a fit for cross-functional work, though the agent-based workflow is a poor match for teams that expect direct visual authoring.

Outputs include interactive HTML, editable JSON and a source snapshot. The viewer can export SVG, while funnels can also export CSV. Generated HTML opens without a server or CX Impact account, so recipients can view a map without adopting the tool.

Key features

Evidence and uncertainty stay separate

CX Impact keeps requirements, observations, hypotheses and open questions distinct. That structure can help teams avoid treating assumptions as settled findings, but users are still advised to review sources and unknowns before using a map to guide decisions.

Funnels require defined metrics

A quantitative funnel depends on user-supplied data and metric definitions; missing values remain unknown. This is a sensible guard against filling gaps with invented numbers, but it means the tool cannot produce a meaningful quantitative funnel from incomplete inputs alone.

Revision happens through the agent

There is no visual editor. Users can revise a map by giving the agent its previous JSON along with new information. That keeps edits within the same workflow, but anyone who needs to adjust map elements directly on screen will find this limiting.

Agent support and setup

Installation is documented for Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode and DeepSeek Harness. The renderer requires Node.js 18 or later; the verified Skills CLI installer uses Node.js 22.20 or later, npm and internet access. The maker reports testing Codex installation and the renderer, but not model-driven end-to-end operation for Claude Code or OpenCode, or harness execution for DeepSeek Harness. Teams depending on those integrations should account for that narrower testing coverage.

Map creation takes place in the user's agent environment with the selected model provider. Generated HTML makes no network requests of its own. The maker links to GitHub documentation, releases and an issue reporting page for support.

Pricing

CX Impact costs 0.00 USD per free under the CX Impact plan. The project code is MIT-licensed, while AI agent and model usage depend on the user's plan. This removes a software subscription from the decision, but does not make the agent or model usage free.

Platforms

CX Impact supports Linux, macOS, web and Windows. Its portable format and HTML output offer flexibility across those platforms, while actual map creation depends on working in a supported agent environment and meeting the renderer's Node.js requirement.

Who it's for

The maker identifies product managers, analysts, designers and service teams as its intended users. It is best suited to people in those roles who already use a supported AI agent, can provide source material and are comfortable reviewing evidence and uncertainties. It is less suitable for users who want a conventional visual mapping app with direct canvas editing.

Pros and cons

Several map types in one skill: teams can work on journeys, blueprints, processes, comparisons and funnels rather than being limited to journey maps.
Reusable, shareable outputs: editable JSON and source snapshots support revision, while interactive HTML opens without an account or server.
No software charge: the project code is open source and the plan is free, although agent and model usage may still cost money.
No visual editor: revisions go through an AI agent, which is restrictive for users who prefer direct graphical editing.
Setup and input requirements: the renderer needs Node.js 18+, and quantitative funnels need data and defined metrics from the user.

Alternatives

Customer Journey Mapping Software is a useful starting point for comparing products across the category.

Choose Milkymap if a freemium product with a free plan, free trial and iOS support better matches your needs; its Satellite Free plan is single-user with basic features, while Satellite Pro costs 9.00 EUR per month for a single user.

Custellence may suit teams looking for a web-based journey mapping product with defined collaboration tiers: Free Forever allows one workspace, two users and two journey maps, while Collaborate costs 199.00 USD per month for unlimited users, journey maps and viewers.

Consider Customer Journey App if you want a web tool with a free plan, manual mapping, templates and multiple export formats; its Free plan allows three journey maps for one user, while Starter costs 29.00 EUR per month.

René Studio is another freemium web option, with a free plan covering three journeys, one collaborator per workspace, 1,000 AI credits per month and community templates.

UXPressia may be a better fit for web-based work that includes personas and impact maps: its free plan includes three of each map type, up to 15 tags, email sharing with one user and PNG export. Its Pro plan costs 36.00 USD per month per user.

JourneyTrack is a web-based paid option with a free trial; its Free Basic plan is billed FREE for 30 days and includes three journeys, one workspace, three editors and unlimited viewers.

Smaply offers a free web plan that begins with a 14-day full-featured trial, then includes one personal workspace, ten maps, ten personas and three advanced cards per map, with no viewer seats.

SuiteCX is an alternative for readers considering paid software with API or self-hosted options.

Verdict

CX Impact is a strong choice for product, analysis, design and service teams already working with AI agents who want several evidence-conscious map types without a software fee. Its reusable outputs and account-free HTML sharing are practical advantages. Look elsewhere if direct visual editing is essential, or if your team is unwilling to manage the Node.js setup and agent or model usage involved.
