Overview

The numbered format gives each picture a clear structure: match the paint to the region and fill it in. Pages span mandalas, flowers, animals, nature, unicorns and zen designs, alongside famous paintings such as the Mona Lisa, Starry Night and The Last Supper. You can revisit pictures to recolor them and share finished work on major social networks.

Free coloring pages make it possible to start without paying, while ads are part of the free experience. Offline play is a practical advantage for coloring away from a connection, though this remains a single-player activity rather than a shared or collaborative one.

Key features

Numbered coloring: Matching numbered regions and paints offer a guided approach, suited to people who want a defined coloring task rather than a blank canvas.
Varied subjects: Mandala, floral, animal, nature, unicorn and zen pages broaden the choice, with famous paintings adding recognizable images to the mix.
Recoloring and sharing: Pictures can be colored again, and creations can be shared on major social networks.
Offline play: Google Play identifies the app as playable offline and single-player, making it suitable for solo use without an internet connection.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and provides free coloring pages, with ads. It is the sensible starting point for occasional use; the ad-supported format is the trade-off.

Plan	Price	What it means
Free	0.00 USD per free	Free coloring pages; contains ads.
Coloring Book Weekly Subscription	4.99 USD per month	In-app subscription.
Coloring Book Monthly Subscription	9.99 USD per month	In-app subscription.
Coloring Book Yearly Subscription	49.99 USD per year	In-app subscription.

The subscription names and terms make the yearly option the lowest stated monthly equivalent, while the weekly subscription is priced at 4.99 USD per month and the monthly subscription at 9.99 USD per month. The subscription descriptions do not spell out what additional content or ad changes they provide, so readers should weigh those recurring charges against the free pages they can already access.

Platforms

The app is available on Android, iOS and Windows. The iPhone and iPad versions require iOS 13 or iPadOS 13 or later. Google Play describes Windows availability as powered by Intel technology. Although the platforms extend beyond phones and tablets, the app is categorized as mobile software.

Google Play reports that no data is shared with third parties, while location, app activity and two other data types may be collected. Data is encrypted in transit, and users can request deletion. Support is available at contact@candy-mobile.com.

Who it's for

This is a good fit for solo color-by-number fans who want a choice of relaxing and familiar subjects, can make use of offline access, and are comfortable with ads on free pages. People who want to draw freely, avoid ads without a subscription, or know exactly what a subscription unlocks should consider other options.

Pros and cons

Pros: The subject range includes both broad themes and famous paintings, so the book is not limited to one style of image.
Pros: Offline, single-player use supports coloring without a connection and without needing another participant.
Pros: Free pages offer a no-cost way to begin.
Cons: Ads accompany the free plan, which may interrupt an otherwise quiet solo activity.
Cons: Subscription prices are recurring, and their descriptions do not clarify what they add beyond free pages.
Cons: Numbered regions suit guided coloring, not people seeking an open-ended drawing tool.

Alternatives

Browse Coloring Apps to compare more options. InColor is another freemium choice, with a free selection of patterns and features supported by ads, a free trial, and Android, iOS and macOS support; choose it if those platforms or a trial matter more to you. Colorfy is a freemium Android and iOS option with ads and in-app purchases, worth considering if you want another mobile coloring app.

Pixel Color offers a free download and trial on Android and iOS, with a weekly subscription that unlocks all content and features; it is a better fit if that stated unlock is what you want. Pixel Paint is free on Android, iOS and web, with ready-made puzzles and photo coloring, making it the alternative to consider for those activities. PixelZen is an iOS freemium option with core coloring, books, a daily challenge, streaks, achievements and daily tool charges; choose it if those game-like daily elements appeal.

Chroma is freemium on Android, iOS and web. Lake is an iOS freemium app with a free trial and a monthly plan for creating with all its art, colors and tools. Color Tap is a free option for iOS and macOS.

Verdict

Choose Coloring Book: Color by Number if you want guided, offline coloring with a substantial spread of themes and recognizable paintings. Free pages make it easy to start, but ads are the price of that access, and the subscription descriptions do not make the upgrade’s benefits clear. Look elsewhere if you need ad-free use or a more open-ended coloring experience.
