Overview

Colorfy is a mobile coloring app and art game for Android and iOS, best suited to people who want both a large library of ready-made pictures and a way to bring their own drawings into a coloring workflow. Its mix of tap-to-fill coloring, freeform brushes, and original mandala drawing gives it more creative range than a picture book alone, though the subscription prices and billing terms are difficult to compare.

Key features

Coloring library and tools

The iOS app includes more than 1,000 pictures, spanning mandalas, florals, animals, patterns, cats, gardens, and famous paintings. Users choose a palette, tap to color, and can switch brush types for different effects. That range suits casual coloring as well as users who want to vary their approach, but the listing does not establish which pictures or tools are free.

Bring in drawings and make mandalas

Colorfy can photograph paper drawings for coloring in the app, so users are not limited to its built-in designs. A separate mode creates original mandalas with a few swipes. These options make it a stronger fit for people who want to personalize their coloring than for those seeking only a fixed set of templates.

View and share artwork

An augmented-reality gallery lets users visualize drawings in a real-world setting as if they were displayed on a wall. Users can view and share drawings with people around the world and share their own work on social networks. This adds a presentation and community layer, although it may matter less to someone who simply wants a quiet offline activity.

Offline use

The iOS listing says Colorfy works without Wi-Fi, which is useful for coloring away from a connection. Colorfy Plus also promises new images for download each week, but the subscription terms do not make clear which listed purchase corresponds to that offer.

Pricing

Colorfy is freemium. The free app costs 0.00 USD per free and contains ads and in-app purchases, so it is the sensible starting point for readers who want to try the app before paying. The listings do not state a free-plan content cap.

Three in-app purchases are shown: Colorfy Subscription at 7.99 USD per once, Colorfy Plus at 9.99 USD per once, and Colorfy Plus Subscription at 19.99 USD per once. Apple does not specify the billing period for any of these purchases, so the prices cannot be reliably compared as monthly or annual costs, and their precise inclusions are not established. The Colorfy Plus subscription description says new images become available for download every week. For subscriptions, renewal is automatic at the same price and period unless turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Check the purchase terms before committing, particularly when the billing period is unclear.

Platforms

Colorfy is available on Android and iOS. Google Play reports more than 50 million downloads and says the app contains ads and in-app purchases. Its data-safety information says it may share location, app information and performance, and device or other IDs; data is encrypted in transit, and users can request deletion. Google Play gives it a Teen content rating and notes that users interact.

Who it's for

Colorfy suits mobile users who want varied coloring designs, offline use, and creative options such as importing a paper drawing or making a mandala. It is less compelling for anyone who needs transparent subscription comparisons before purchase or wants an ad-free experience without in-app purchases.

Pros and cons

Pro: A library of more than 1,000 pictures provides varied subjects, from mandalas and animals to gardens and famous paintings.
Pro: Photographing paper drawings and creating original mandalas give users options beyond coloring supplied designs.
Pro: Offline coloring on iOS makes the app useful without Wi-Fi.
Con: The free app contains ads and in-app purchases, and its free-content limits are not established.
Con: Three paid purchase options have no stated billing period, making their ongoing cost and relative value hard to judge.
Con: Google Play says the app may share location, app performance and device identifiers, a consideration for privacy-conscious users.

Alternatives

InColor is worth considering if a free trial or availability on macOS matters; its free option includes a selection of patterns and features with ads. Choose Chroma if web access is important, or if you prefer its coin-based purchases. Lake may suit iOS users who want a monthly plan described as including all art, colors, and tools. Pixel Color is another Android and iOS freemium option, with a weekly subscription described as unlocking all content and features. Recolor is an alternative for Android and iOS. Color Tap may be a better fit for iOS or macOS users who want a free app with all content available in the download. Pixel Paint is a free alternative for Android, iOS, and web. pau. is another iOS option.

Verdict

Choose Colorfy if you want a flexible mobile coloring app that combines a broad picture library with imported sketches, mandala creation, sharing, and offline coloring on iOS. Its main drawback is the opaque paid lineup: the purchase periods are unclear, so readers who need to compare recurring costs should look elsewhere or stay with the free app until they can confirm the terms.
