Overview

Cinema8 is a business video platform that brings recording, editing, hosting and interactive viewing into one workflow. It is best for teams building sales, marketing or learning experiences where viewers should do more than watch. Its breadth is compelling, but the storage, bandwidth and video allowances make choosing a plan carefully important.

Key features

Screen recording and editing tools sit alongside hosting, while a Chrome extension can record a screen or camera and add sharing, calls to action, forms and analytics. Interactive videos support branching paths, hotspots, annotations, quizzes and assessments, plus lead-generation forms and clickable calls to action. That range suits campaigns and training that depend on viewer choices or responses; it is more than teams need for straightforward video hosting.

AI workflows can generate subtitles, chapters, keyword tags and SEO-compatible summaries. A/B testing, dashboards, heatmaps and interaction reports help teams understand engagement and compare content. Connections to CRMs, e-commerce platforms, LMS systems and analytics tools, plus custom APIs and webhooks, make Cinema8 a plausible fit for businesses integrating video into established processes.

Interactive videos can be exported in SCORM format for LMS use, and Pro Plus lists SCORM and xAPI export. Cinema8 states that its video technology is ISO 27001-certified and offers encryption, in-video SSO and domain-restricted access. Password protection, domain-restricted embedding and role-based permissions add access controls relevant to business and education use.

Pricing

Cinema8 has a free plan, a 14-day trial and paid plans. The pricing note says paid plans start at $12/mo (annual), while the listed monthly prices for Starter and above are higher; compare the actual billing term and plan limits before budgeting.

Plan	Price and terms	Allowance
Free	0.00 USD per free (billed yearly)	1 seat, 2 GB storage, 500 GB bandwidth and 10 videos
Starter	15.00 USD per month (billed monthly)	60 videos, 100 GB storage and 1 TB bandwidth
Pro	30.00 USD per month (billed monthly)	150 videos, 500 GB storage and 2 TB bandwidth
Pro Plus	105.00 USD per month (billed monthly)	600 videos, 2 TB storage and 3 TB bandwidth; SCORM and xAPI export
Business	639.00 USD per month (billed yearly)	Unlimited seats, 5TB storage, 15TB bandwidth, unlimited videos within storage allowance and 15,000 AI tokens/month
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Tailored storage and bandwidth, custom integrations, enhanced security and governance, and a dedicated customer success manager

Free is a useful starting point for an individual, but one seat, 10 videos and 2 GB of storage constrain sustained or team use. Starter and Pro expand the video, storage and bandwidth caps, though neither lists seat counts or the higher-tier export options. Pro Plus is the clearest fit when LMS export is required, while Business is aimed at larger teams needing unlimited seats and video capacity within storage. Enterprise is for organizations seeking tailored capacity, integrations and governance rather than a fixed package. Free includes documentation and community support; paid plans list email support with response SLAs from 72 hours to 8 hours.

Platforms

Cinema8 supports web, API and extension access. Its Chrome extension adds screen and camera recording, but the platform details do not identify mobile or desktop apps.

Who it's for

Cinema8 is aimed at businesses, particularly sales teams, video marketers, e-commerce teams, educators and enterprises. It is a strong candidate when interactive video, engagement measurement and integrations belong in the same workflow. A team seeking only a simple host, or one that cannot fit its video, storage and bandwidth needs within a published tier, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad interactive toolkit: Branching, hotspots, forms, calls to action, quizzes and annotations cover both marketing and learning uses.
Useful measurement: A/B testing, heatmaps and interaction reports give teams more than basic viewing metrics.
Business integrations and controls: CRM, e-commerce and LMS connections, custom APIs, webhooks and multiple access controls support organizational workflows.
Defined capacity tiers: Starter, Pro and Pro Plus raise video, storage and bandwidth allowances, with SCORM and xAPI export identified for Pro Plus.

Cons

Plan terms need comparison: The $12/mo (annual) starting note differs from the listed Starter price of 15.00 USD per month billed monthly.
Entry plan is tightly capped: Free has one seat, 10 videos and 2 GB of storage, limiting its usefulness for teams or growing libraries.
Higher capacity costs more: Pro Plus is 105.00 USD per month billed monthly, and Business is 639.00 USD per month billed yearly.

Alternatives

Edpuzzle is worth considering for educators who want a free plan with 20 interactive activities to assign without limits and 10 supported assignments; it also supports Android and iOS.
Near-Life has a free forever tier with one project, 2D media, 5GB storage and up to 100 plays, making it an option for a small interactive-video project.
Show by Animaker offers a free tier with 100 emails and contacts per month, 5GB/month video bandwidth, basic analytics and business-hours email support.
H5P is the alternative to consider when free, MIT-licensed, self-hosted open-source software is the priority.
Stornaway is another option for interactive video authoring, with Editing and Hosting plans.
TouchPoint Studio offers a one-time 5.00 USD Wall plan with one hotspot and unlimited videos, or a Pro plan at 39.00 USD per month.
Apester is a paid alternative with a free plan and trial.
Yo Scenario is another freemium web option, with a Lite plan at 8.00 GBP per month billed annually.
Interactive Video Software and Video Marketing are category lists for comparing more options.

Verdict

Choose Cinema8 if your business needs interactive video creation, analytics, integrations and LMS export within a single platform. Its most persuasive case is the combination of viewer interaction and measurement, backed by business-oriented integrations and controls. Look elsewhere if you need only basic hosting or cannot justify the higher tiers needed for greater capacity and exports.
