Overview

Build Method brings project coordination and financial administration together, with separate portals for clients and vendors. The breadth is useful for teams juggling schedules, approvals, purchasing and payments around the same jobs. Unlimited projects, customers and vendors are included even on the one-user plan, so the main constraint at lower tiers is the size of the internal team, not the number of jobs or outside participants.

Its scope is aimed at construction work rather than general-purpose project management: tools include inspections, punch lists, selections and change orders, as well as estimating and customer payments. That makes it a more natural fit for builders and remodelers who need job-specific workflows than for users seeking a basic task tracker.

Key features

Project tools cover tasks, schedules, daily logs, document storage, team communication, inspections and punch lists. Together they address both planning and the ongoing record of a job. Secure document sharing is a useful detail when project files need to reach people outside the core team.

Financial tools span estimates and budgets, purchase orders, expenses, invoices and customer payments. That range connects project activity with purchasing and cash collection instead of leaving those workflows entirely separate. QuickBooks, Xero and Google Calendar integrations are available on every plan, so choosing a smaller user tier does not mean giving up those connections.

Clients can use the customer portal to review selections, approve changes, pay invoices and follow progress. Vendors and subcontractors have a separate portal for bid requests, purchase orders, schedules, documents and updates. These portals are most valuable when a contractor wants clients and trades to see relevant project information without making every exchange depend on direct staff follow-up.

The product has a mobile app and can be accessed from any device, which suits teams moving between the office and job sites. Support includes email responses within 24 hours, weekday live chat from 8am to 6pm MST, guided onboarding and training resources. That combination gives new teams multiple routes to assistance, though live chat is limited to business days and stated hours.

Pricing

There is no free plan. All listed tiers include all features, unlimited projects, customers and vendors; the price differences chiefly buy more internal user seats.

1 User: $99.00 USD per month, billed $1,188.00 USD annually. This is the lowest-cost option for a solo operator, but it leaves no additional employee seat.
2 Users: $149.00 USD per month, billed annually (Save 20%). It fits a small working pair while retaining the full feature set.
4 Users: $199.00 USD per month, billed annually (Save 20%). This tier gives a compact team more room to collaborate without a feature downgrade.
6 Users: $299.00 USD per month, billed annually (Save 20%). It is a better match for a larger in-house group that needs several staff accounts.
10 Users: $399.00 USD per month, billed annually (Save 20%). This is the largest listed seat tier for teams that can operate within ten users.
Enterprise: custom pricing, with unlimited users and advanced onboarding. It is the option for organizations that outgrow the fixed seat tiers.

The 14-day trial requires billing information, but the card is not charged until the trial ends and users can cancel anytime. That provides a short evaluation window, but it is not a no-card trial. Since the plans are presented on annual billing, buyers should account for the commitment rather than treating the monthly figure as a month-to-month term.

Platforms

Build Method is available on Android, iOS and the web. A mobile app and access from any device support teams that need project information away from a desktop.

Who it's for

General contractors, home builders, remodelers, trades and service professionals, and commercial contractors are its stated audiences. It is particularly well suited to businesses that need clients to approve selections or changes and subcontractors to access schedules, bid requests and job documents. A solo contractor can use the entry tier, while companies should choose based on internal seats needed; external customers and vendors do not consume the stated unlimited customer and vendor allowances.

It is less compelling for buyers who need a free starting tier, a short-term monthly commitment, or more than ten internal users without moving to custom-priced Enterprise.

Pros and cons

Pro: Every plan includes all features, preventing smaller teams from losing project or financial tools at lower prices.
Pro: Unlimited projects, customers and vendors on the listed seat tiers avoid job-count and external-contact caps.
Pro: Client and vendor portals support approvals, payments, bids and job updates across parties involved in a build.
Pro: QuickBooks, Xero and Google Calendar are included across plans, alongside Android, iOS and web access.
Con: There is no free plan, and the trial requires billing details before the 14-day period begins.
Con: The published tiers require annual billing, and the one-user entry plan will not suit teams that need several staff accounts.
Con: Teams above ten users must move to custom pricing rather than a published seat tier.

Alternatives

Buildxact is worth considering for buyers who want a freemium option: its free Go plan includes five complimentary credits, AI estimating, professional proposals and Home Depot material ordering. Beam also has a free plan, with up to two users, five free AI estimates and unlimited estimates, projects, invoices and payments; choose it when free access matters more than having Android or iOS, since its platform is web only.

JobTread is another paid option, with a monthly plan priced at $20.00 USD per month and tiered price breaks beginning after ten users; consider it if that pricing structure better suits the team. Ressio is a paid alternative for buyers comparing construction software across Android, iOS and web.

BuildBook has a free plan and a trial, making it an alternative for readers looking for a no-cost starting point. GoBuild offers a paid, quote-after-demo plan with unlimited jobs, every feature and the whole crew included, which may suit buyers who prefer a crew-wide package. Foundation is a paid option with a trial and an advertised base plan of $199.00 USD per month plus an $8 service fee, or $207.00 USD per month total, for unlimited projects and users. Buildertrend is another paid option for Android, iOS and web.

Verdict

Build Method is a strong fit for construction businesses that want one system for project work, finances and communication with clients and subcontractors. Its full-featured plans and unlimited jobs, customers and vendors make seat count the central pricing decision. Choose it if those connected workflows justify annual billing; look elsewhere if a free plan, monthly flexibility or a published option for more than ten users is essential.
